Default To the cinema?

Hi friends!!

We've spoken so much about the eventual A-Team Movie.

We've got many claims and most of us don't agree with this production.

Some of us will go and see what this movie is like to decide whether it's good or not.
Some other people will avoid it, as a protest, and because they aren't interested in watching how the A-Team can be spoiled.

And you? What would you like to do??

Take care!

I voted no just on how it's been described so far. If it "officially" changes then I might change my mind.

Sure ostarella!
I voted like you, cause I could stand to watch such a "profanation"!...

Normally I try to experiment, to watch, to read before judging.. But in this case I feel I can't give a chance to such an exploitation of the A-Team name!!

Hi Sara

No, I won't be going to watch it either....... :!: :!: You cannot make a movie out of such a classic TV show......It just wouldn't be the same :!: :!:

Take care

I voted "Yes". But whether or not I actually go will be determined by what I hear of the finished product.

I don't expect any new A-Team to be perfect duplications. But I do expect them to have the same spirit as the original Team did. If that's missing - forget it.

I voted yes for mainly the same kinda reasons as Dawg.

I know I can accept remakes if they are well done. I even liked "Lost in Space" so I know I can enjoya remake even if it's VASTLY different from it's source material.

It's gonna basically come down to ' does it look goo in the trailer'
Because thinking on it, keeping the original cast in now way mean the movie would be good.

For me, The X-FIles movie, for example, was one of my worst cinema experiences. I felt so cheated and let down by that movie, and it had all the same people as the TV show  Where as the Fugitive was IMHO, brillant, and had next to none of the same people from the TV show involved.

So I'll be willing to give the A-Team movie the same chance I give any moives I think.
So if the trailer looks good, I'll go.

Agreed. I would like to see Dirk taking over Hannibal's "position" (makes sense to me  ) but while it would be nice to see them all in it, it wouldn't be the make or break issue. I loved the Charlie's Angels movie, and that was so totally different than the show  It just depends on whether or not they stay with the "flavor" of the show or not.

Personally, I have absolutely no desire to see the remake.
I think I'm just past the A-Team days in general.
I haven't even seen Earthstorm or Goldene Zeiten yet. :P

If they got rid of that stupid idea of Face being a traitor, and kept that "fun" interaction between the guys, I wouldn't totally ignore it ;-) I don't see any reason it can't be a "gritty film" and still keep that. But, as I've probably stated elsewhere, "Rambo-esque" movies bore me to tears, so if they don't make the guys "the guys" (whomever the actors), I see no point in going.

I somewhat agree. But, I still think it's a bad idea to do a remake.

ostarella's opinion is absolutely right..
But I would do as Anne.. I would never go.

A remake of the A-Team is like a remake of Leonardo's Mona Lisa!!!!!

As most others I have voted no. The way movies are made today it would most likely not be 'our' A-Team and I'd rather not watch it. I don't think the producers care much about the original, they only want a well known label to put on a new production so that they can sell it better. Okay, the 80s style will not work today and they have to alter it, even I accept that, but then they have created something new which should have a new name, too. It can be 'like the A-Team' but it can never be THE A-Team. Not for real fans.

Maybe, but I'm certainly not one of them, sorry. I made it through two eps with difficulties, because I was willing to give it a try, but I hated it. The whole 'feeling' was wrong, so angry and twisted and...oh, I don't think I have the right words in English to explain, but I didn't like it, not a bit.

I've watched a couple, and frankly, once you get past the BSG/Starbuck hype, it's just another dark, gloomy, roam-through-space show. yawn...

I 100% agree. I was watching some episodes of the original and "real" Battlestar Galactica series with some friends who had never watched any episodes. They LOVED it. I only watched one episode of the other series and absolutely hated it.
When they made the original BSG series they broke the mold. The same goes for the A-Team. Like I've said before why mess with perfection?
