Do you like soccer (or, as the rest of the world calls it, football)? Dirk does in a big way, and it has become a family affair.

Dirk's son Roland and 2 friends have started Legend Soccer Company,  developing innovative, sustainable soccer gear (and only soccer gear). Learn about Legend Soccer Company at the link above. Dirk not only endorses Legend Soccer, he's involved with it - "and not only because Roland is my son."

Lol.

Day 1 wasn't bad. Busy at work. Still don't eat enough according to some people, but I did pick up rice cakes to help with that. Day 2 is going to be another long one, but I'll get through it and help my fellow Dirkette survive wifhout having to eat dirt. Lol

Day 2 continued, prisoner 8468:
My sister prisoners are of great comfort to me. They too suffer at the hands of our grain wardens. I pray we escape more nimble, more quick and as skinny as a candle stick. But I need only call my sisters in my hour of weakness.....Dirkettes, assembbbbb.....(*snore*)

What do you think, VBS? Devil horns or a moustache?

I have to admit to all that I cheated a little yesterday. A little peanut butter never hurt anyone, right??

So far, so good, on Day 2. Work stress makes me want to binge. I guess I'll binge on this handy bowl of rice...

Lol. I cheated with a little peanut butter, too. Did not partake in the ice cream or any chocolate though. That what happens when you work 12+ hours in a day.

Well, if you're already in prison, it's not like they can put you in prison for stealing, you know? Way to make the best of the situation.

Your body probably needs the protein if you're working that much. And peanut butter's a nice way to get it. Good for what ails ya.

Day 3: One of my captors is eating strawberries right in front of me. The monster. Cruelty, oh, the cruelty.

On a totally unrelated matter, it appears I have a tummy virus.
But I press on and I eat the brown rice doled out to me. I'll survive. At first...I was afraid, I was petrified. I will not break.

You're doing great. It's too bad about the virus, but keep drinking water and tea.

Maybe the simple starch and tea will help with the sickness? Hope you feel better soon. <<hugs>>

Sitting at the airport listening to my stomach rumble. Got a tub of rice and some dandelion tea in my luggage. Unfortunately the rice is in a checked bag. I think I might have to cheat while on travel, but I'll do my best...

Thank you, sisters of the grain. Your strength helps me press on.

We will overcome the hunger. We will rise. Not like the bread we crave, mind you, but like the heroes we.

So, not a good day for the diet. Unless you count, too busy too eat anything. Had something not MB because I was frustrated this morning. Will do better tonight., I hope.
I watch all the stuff my sister makes and listen to her complain about health issues. How do I make her realize the two are connected? I'm not perfect, but I don't have the issues she has either.... Not even close.

That's not easy. Believe me. I've tried to convince others myself. I've talked about all the benefits of health food, but they just don't want to listen nor believe it. But I don't plan on quitting. I keep on trying to give them good advice, but that's about all I can do really right now.

The best way to lead is by example. They'll see the results.

Very true. People believe what they see more than what you say.

At the same time, some people choose to ignore what they can see because changing their view of reality is inconvenient for them. This is definitely true of some of my relations. I was just telling my dad yesterday that I think I've reached the limit of how cynical you can get about humanity's ability to self-deceive.

Not if they don't want to and walk out at any comment you make. Regardless of how it was said. My groceries are still completely separate from theirs and only my niece raids my supplies once in a while. I tease her about it, but then give her a hug and tell her to take whatever she needs, but text me so I can pick up more on my way home.

That's good, LD14. I once heard this saying that I believe is the same sentiment. "Patience is impatience pushed to the limit."
You just can take so much that you go calm and zen instead of crazy.

I would say you're doing a great job in that case with your niece following you. So don't give up hope. Sometimes it takes a while longer for adults to get there ... I do understand who frustrating it can be.

It sounds like this is needed again.
