The Hip Chicks Guide to Macrobiotics!
Hello,
Just wanted to say becoming Macrobiotic is definitley a journey and not an easy one at that ....but even though i am just at the beginning I have noticed differences that have made changes in my life inevitable. I encourage anyone who wants to try and or just wants to make a slow and gradual change toward healthier lifestyle or becoming macrobiotic completely, there is an amazing book out there (besides Dirk's of course!) that has been a great guide and support to making positive and healthy changes to my diet and my family's ..... the book is called "The Hip Chicks Guide to Macrobiotics" by Jessica Porter... it is more than a cook book it connects the cooking to the philosophy and I am excited.... just wanted to share that with any other hopeful and fellow macro's out there ....Good luck in the food and the journey
PS ... If you haven't noticed, i am not good with punctuation.... sorry about the run on sentence!!!!
xoxo M

That's not a bad run-on sentence. You should see some of mine.....
Anyway - I love that book! It's funny but informative; an excellent combination. Although it's written from the female perspective, I recommend it for anyone, too.
I am

I got that for a gift a year or so ago - and my brother "borrowed" it - I may have to buy it again for my own Christmas present

Don't tell us your bro' is actually cooking brown rice himself, not just eating yours!

I wish! I think he's studying it more than using it

LOL - sometimes information needs to seep into consciousness by osmosis!

Especially when it's someone who's been going on various "diets" for the last 20 years and still can't keep the weight off I need to get him a copy of Dirk's book - maybe then he'd see it's a whole lifestyle change, not just food

I bought 'The hip chick's guide ...' some months ago too! Still have to read it though ... But I'm happy with the recommendations which make me want to start reading again. Thanks!
