I thought it was a Rufus Wainwright (sp?) tune... yeah, I have all 3 albums (this is on the latest one, "A Pentatonix Christmas") and that verse is omitted from the album too. I actually never cared for that verse... thought it took away from the message of the song (at least, the way I've interpreted it). It didn't need the sexual component, and the other part of the verse is redundant, taking away from the poignancy of the final verse. There's my deep thought. Lol
So it was definitely the group who chose to leave it out.
It's a beautiful song, but SNL/Kate McKinnon completely ruined it for me with her sappy tribute to Clinton in the cold opening after the election.

in front of him, you can see the audience clearly; the
orchestra and the music are secondary to the kid.
