Tiffany posted an interview about a new movie that Dirk has a role in. Can we possiby get some inside details? Like release date and where, any behind the scenes commentary, etc.

Ok. All that says is that the film is scheduled to be released later this year. As the production company is from England,, will it also be released in the US or just in Europe?

No idea really. It's an indie project with Asian based cast, sponsored by the Asien Comic Con. I'd expect a release in Asia for sure and with that most likely also Europe because we share the same DVD region with Japan. US not sure. But they do have a Facebook and whatnot, maybe they can tell you more if you just write them.

On a side note, especially small indie companies always have to struggle so much with having their projects made known. wouldn't it be cool if there was a movie platform like Netflix for indie movies?

Yeah, it looks like the B-movies through history and must have been a blast and a half to make. We'll keep our eyes out for a release date, too.

In the meantime, writer-director Scott McQuaid did an interview with BlazingMinds.co.uk, where he talks about the film (and has nice things to say about a certain someone, too).

Ohhhh here's the thread!

This looks silly but I expect I'm gonna like it a lot. My husband still doesn't get why I enjoy "Ssssss" so much. (For those of you that don't know, this is a 70s movie wherein our hero - spoiler alert - literally turns into a snake... Hmm. I guess that wasn't much of a spoiler given the title of the film...) Anyway he watched it with me once and I SWEAR he liked it, but if course he won't admit to liking a b-movie, and so I must ensure ridicule of my cinematic preferences.

I had the last laugh though. One day the family was playing "hangman" and I came up a 6-letter puzzle in the movie category.

And nobody guessed S. Ha.

So is it just me or does it look like Dirk is going to be the bad guy in this one?

I can't tell if he is going to be in the whole movie or just the intro. His role is described as "show host"?

In case anyone is interested, I queried the producer and was told the movie WILL be released in the US later this year, and that they would be making an announcement with further details.

I know region restrictions aren't entirely rare for films, but I still feel as if this is discrimination against anyone who doesn't live in 2 specific, relatively small sections of the world...

Sorry! Then again, it should supposedly become available in Asia at some point, if I recall, so there's a chance it'll open up to your region as well. Fingers crossed!

It's entirely possible I'll watch this movie in the near future, and also possible I'll write a review on it here... if so, you'll be the first to know.

Hmmm... how do I say this? Dirk was funny as 'Jack Strange', but he had a very small 'role' as the narrator/intro guy. It must have been really fun to work on this one. I'd say Dirk and the theme music were the coolest parts of the movie. LOL. But it depends on your expectations, really. I like amateur B movies because I'm looking to make fun of them (I recall having a great time with some friends in a certain Kansas City hotel, watching Demon Keeper and laughing our butts off...)

This one would be a perfect candidate for an MST3K episode. I totally miss that show.

You know what I just realized? Recon 7 Down is on Amazon Prime Video now! Has anyone seen that one? I wonder if we have a thread for it...
