LEGEND SOCCER COMPANY
Do you like soccer (or, as the rest of the world calls it, football)? Dirk does in a big way, and it has become a family affair.

Dirk's son Roland and 2 friends have started Legend Soccer Company,  developing innovative, sustainable soccer gear (and only soccer gear). Learn about Legend Soccer Company at the link above. Dirk not only endorses Legend Soccer, he's involved with it - "and not only because Roland is my son."

Default Convention Review-Manchester, England, Dec 3 2016

Hi All,

If you are thinking of attending any of the upcoming Conventions-Please do. You will not be disappointed.

I attended the convention For the Love of Sci-Fi, in Manchester England on December 3rd-a day that will stay with me for a long time. Laughter, story telling and meeting some very interesting people. One of which was the man himself.

I have some photos from that day that I will put up shortly.
Hopefully they will convince you what a fun day out Conventions are.

Best,

Irish Gal

Hi,

Many thanks for the warm welcomes.

As promised, some photos from the Convention For The love of Sci-Fi held in Manchester, December 3rd.

By far Dirk had the biggest crowd. The poor guy had writers cramp after just an hour- a testament to his popularity. I did feel sorry for the other 'guests' attending the convention who could only look on while his line got longer and longer throughout the day.
An old friend of his was also there, the original A-Team van and I managed to take a number of photos of him actually behind the drivers seat while he filmed a trailer (promo) for a UK TV channel currently re-running episodes of The A-Team. One of the photos shows him getting his lines from the director-not that he needed much help. He is a natural after all.

It was my second time meeting him over the years and he remains as gracious as ever.

Best,
Irish Gal.

Welcome Irish Gal - and thanks for sharing the photos!!

Dirk had the biggest crowd at the convention I attended, too. Did you notice he spends more time talking to the fans than most other celebs?

Hi flyngirl5,

Thank you for the welcome.

I have a lot more photos and I will try to upload more over the coming days.

Dirk always spends time talking to those who come to see him. For the person to whom he is speaking its great but for the person waiting in line...not so much.

I honestly do not think he expected the crowds that came to see him that day- if you recall there were lines to meet him and then lines to get a photo taken with him.
Throughout it all, he was gracious and warm to everyone.

Irish Gal.

Yes!! Haha... it does tend to lead to long lines. He's very personable and it's hard to stop chatting with him, even for a wallflower like me.

I always look forward to more photos.

Hi Flyngirl5,

I agree-He is so approachable that its easy to get carried away in conversation with him.

Two additional photos from the Manchester Convention. It was great watching him in action in front of the cameras again.

The other photos (omitting the selfies with him) are pretty similar so I shall just upload these two.

Hope you enjoyed them.

Do you have to omit any of them?

Yep, enjoyed them immensely. Thanks a bunch.

That makes me so happy to hear that, but sad at the same time. I want to meet him just once, but it will probably never happen.

Welcome, Irish Gal! Those are awesome photos... thanks so much for sharing! Sounds like you had a great time. I have definitely been thinking about conventions, but whether I get to attend one soon is up to whether the stars should just so happen to align... and I lost my telescope.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us, and hope to hear more from you around the forum!

Savor the anticipation. The convention goes so quickly.

Really hoping you having an awesome time. I know we will be anxiously awaiting updates.

Wishing you safe travels, too.

Absolutely! I guess I'm kind of nervous anyhow, because I don't really know what to talk about. I don't want to say the same things or ask the same questions he has probably heard a thousand times before. I don't follow the macrobiotic lifestyle, so I can't talk about that.
