We're having minor issues with the site - you may have experienced them - that come with upgrades to the servers and old code on our pages. I've made some corrections and fixed what broken code I've learned to recognize, but it's not done yet.

So this blog post can be ignored, since I'm using it for testing purposes. OK? Ok...

Ain't it about time for an update?

I get introspective sometimes and think about posting those musings here, but there really isn't anything new to tell. Having already described my emerging from depression, you know I'm getting better all the time (OK, yes, there are evenings spent on games rather than work, but I'm doing better than I was). I'm exercising more than I used to (which, particularly at my age, is a good thing). I'm feeling pretty good. Well, except for this cold......

I've been doing some reflecting – I suppose that's well in keeping with my first blog post – and decided I should share some of it, and some of the realizations I've had the last couple of weeks.


One of those realizations is a recurring one: I can't reach all my goals overnight. That's been a problem with me my whole life, to be honest, setting a goal and throwing myself at it, then being disappointed when I can't make it work before dinner. I wind up spreading myself too...

There are moments in life that you simply don't expect. Events that blindside you, come from out of nowhere. And very often they are precipitated by the simplest of things, but result in a life-changing realization – dare I say, revelation.


It's also very true that we tend to learn more from our mistakes than we do from our successes.


I should know. I'm the poster child for making mistakes. Some of them have been real doozies...
