On turning fifty....

I just turned fifty and realized quite a few things about myself. Age is just a number and it does not define who you are or make you who you are. How you act and feel is a state of mind and body. I don't act my age nor do I look it. I try to eat right and exercise and I don't smoke and don't drink. I do have a glass of wine on special occasions. I remember my Father saying to me if people don't like you for who and what you are that's their problem and it's also what you think of yourself that counts and also always treat people like how you would like to be treated and always with courtesy and respect. My Mother had the same philosophy and that the richest things in life you can have are not possessions, they are family, friends and your pets. Those who you love and who love you. Dirk would have liked my Father. He has many of the same qualities and a really good sense of humour.
Yes. I am fifty. I haven't gotten older. I've gotten stronger and better and that's just fine with me.
