I've done some Gen Battlestar Fanart and I thought I'd post it here.
errrm based on the describiton, this seems to be kinda a general BSG area so hopefully it's ok if some don't have Starbuck in it as long as most of what I post does?
Tell me if they're not and I'll edit 'em out ^^

Finished Pictures:
http://www.oshinchan.com/fanart/apolloidiot.jpg
I'm not sure what Apollo did, but Starbuck's always there to put him in his place ^__^

http://www.oshinchan.com/fanart/siblingrivalry.jpg
Apollo, Athen and Zac as children
This is based on a "Do what I'm say I'm Older"
"Yeah well I'm taller" joke between myself and my sister, but I saw it as an argument between Apollo and Athena.

Silly Things:
http://www.oshinchan.com/sketches/starbug.jpg
This was a joke based on someone on the A-Team forum saying whenever they miheard Stabuck as Starbug.

http://www.oshinchan.com/sketches/Smintheus.jpg
This is a mythology joke and a cross over with Harry Potter. Apollo was seen a destroyer of Rodents so that's part of it. And If you don't read Harry Potter, the Peter Pettigrew character turns into a a rat and is a vile traitor (acutually I think Baltar takes him, but Peter's betrayal is much more personal).
Also, I love drawing tinified Starbuck he's very cute.
Apollo is much harder to draw tinified, because of his cheekbones. This also marks the first time I've drawn Boomer in any form at all.

Rought Sketches:
http://www.oshinchan.com/sketches/umbra.jpg
This is a VERY ROUGH Ball point pen sketch of Starbuck being rescued on Umbra. If I get off my rear end, this'll be a painting at some point.

http://www.oshinchan.com/sketches/starbuckold.jpg
Another little ball point pen sketch of an older Starbuck (with "awed cadets" in the background) Hey, I had to do something with the CBB shoots of Dirk! Actually I didn't try and make Starbuck look exactly like an older Dirk because to me an older Dirk looks like Face. . . .it makes sense in my head.
This was prep work for a painting I did that's not Gen.

Thanks Barbara!

Glad you like 'em. I know we artista are supposed to work only for ourselves and our own gratification, but it is also always nice to have an appreciative audience :)
At least to me anyway

I draw kinda random little picture of Apollo and Starbuck as children.
Ummm really it jsut kinda evolved from a generic child doodle I was doing during a lunch break (which is why it's drawn in ball point pen and highlighters)

The quote I have with this is "you don't want to share, you want to take"

Finally got to take a gander at it - LOVE those facial expressions, especially that third panel! :)):)):))

Thanks Bibbinut, thanks Ostarella ^__^
I'm having a lot of fun with these! I've got 13 sketched out and I post a finshed one on my livejournal every Monday.

I like the real cartoonish look because the expressions are so much more comical, and I think it just adds to the humor (Apollo in the third panal is one of my favorite expressions so far *L*)

I through this bit of fluff together last night.

Apollo Vs a Chinese Finger trap.
No clue where this came from other than, no, I really don't know . . .

http://galactica.oshinchan.com/comics/trapped.jpg

(ignore the 'gay' comment. It was a note to myself that I TOTALLY failed at masculine body language on this picture, but I generally make notes to myself like that on sketches I do, but usually I remember to erase them )

I could try but as if right now, I'd not been happy enough with any of my Athena sketches to even post 'em let alone work 'em into a full picture.

What I really want to do is a "woman of BSG" picture.
Cause I think Sheba, Cassie, Serina and Athena showcase different types of woman and when you add into that Dietra and Brie I think it's a great mix of personality and showing what woman can do form the career orientated to the motherly. I'm just sorry they couldn't be developed more
(and I need to use 'em more in fanfics! Actually I've got on focused on Brie and Starbuck, not romantically, but just talking, but I kinda fell apart on it)

Ani, that would be great to see you doing a women of BSG picture.
Looking forward to what you come up with. :)

Some more art. This was done without any reference material, which is why Cassie looks . . nothing like herself.

The large portraits of Starbuck and Apollo where sketched with a sharpie sans pencil, so I couldn't erase anything. Pretty happy with how they came out.

Everything else was penciled in first. I wanted to draw Starbuck with a Cigar, but without a reference photo, I just can't get it to look right. I don't have enough encounters with people smoking cigars to have a decent mental image of how that looks ^^;;

http://www.oshinchan.com/sketches/sharpie2.jpg

Oh, and I think this is the first time I've posted a sketch of Athena. First time I've ever been happy with one!

Hey, I love the Starbuck sketches (not that I'm biased at all :D) but the others are excellent. Cassie - yeah, she reminds me a bit more of Kes from Voyager ;)

So when are we going to see some more TAT fanart? You don't do enough of that, y'know - and you have so much free time on your hands >:) ;)

ani
08-24-2008, 10:32 AM
Tell Face to cooperate with me and let me sketch him and there shall be more TAT fanart :)

Really it is because I don't have a photonovel of A-Team stuff to use as quick reference such that I can just doodle the A-Team and feel like they look remotely like themselves. Murdock was a small miracle!

ostarella

What exactly is a photonovel? Maybe we can get some volunteers to work on one for you ;)

Then I can really start nagging >:)

*L* If y'all want to mail me A-Team pictures go for it. *LOL*
Actually I was cleaning my art area and jsut found most of my A-Team reference photos and an old never finished comic so *maybe* there will be art soon ^_^

I tried to doodles Face at work today . . but he looks like Starbuck.
And there is a difference!!!

I know that sound scrazy, but there really is, and it's more than age ^^

*LOL* Aren't there enough Face pics around? The 'Sexy Face' thread on the new A-Team Resource page is growing rapidly and many people are waiting for you to join the club ;) Of course we can flood your email account with pics, too :D Or you might try the A-Team books, although in the one I've got there are more drawings of the guys than photos.

Hmmm, difference Starbuck - Face, that's a though one to determine, but I agree, there is a difference. Aside from the obviously shorter hair... Dirk said somewhere, he was a little 'pudgy' (his word, not mine) while shooting Galactica. Not that I totally agree, he never really was, but in a subtle way his face was more...defined later. For me, your Starbuck aways looks pretty young, if you could adjust that, you might get Face. Of course I'm not looking at it with artist's eyes, I think people who can draw so well, are seeing the world with slightly different eyes, their perception is different.

Anyway, I love your art and would love to see a Face drawing from you one day! :) :)

Can't all the 'Sexy Face' threads count as photo novels  They are *very* inspiring... ;)

Well yes, they certainly are. ;)
However, sadly, it is a but hard to put the forum in my purse and carry it with me. Versus the novella sized Photonovel of the first three BSG episodes that I ahve. That fits in my purse nicely. :D

I used to have A-Team phto references printed out, but I don't anymore, or not many. lost 'em all I guess. And all my magazine clippings are BSG era, save one.

So nine tiems utta 10, any Dirk reference I have on me is circa 1979 . . . so liek I'm gonna start doing a lot of "young face" or somethign I guess :p

Well, it was my line of thinking to print out the best pics for reference. :) I know the BSG photo novel; to have something like that from the A-Team would be marvellous, but chances are slim - unless you do it yourself ;)

I'm sure you will manage to draw Face one day, and I hope we'll get to see the result! Something I'm really looking forward to! :)

Oh I've drawn Face before ^__^
*checks site* huh, but maybe never posted them here, just on the defunct A-Team Shrine.

I guess I should repost them ^^
