Happy New Year 2017
It's New Year's Eve, the last day of 2016. It's been a bittersweet year; lots of good things happened this year, a lot of controversial, even divisive events, and lots of losses, particularly of many who had become cultural icons, Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds only the most recent.
So we close this year with decidedly mixed feelings, sadness and uncertainty mixing freely with gratitude for all the good things the year has given us.
We look hopefully forward to 2017 being a year that brings all of us the opportunities for prosperity, the chance for lasting peace in the world, and a little more love than in 2016...

Another wish: we find out how many shots/drinks it takes to make John giggle. I don't think we ever found out. I would bet on 6.

I will be home all night so if you want to chat on the website, i'm game. BSG and season 5 of A-team are no longer on Netflix after tonight, so i'm doing a marathon while i finish mapping the tax items on our new tax system and learning the payroll system which is being implemented starting Monday. The other members of our team having been using it for four months. They changed my assignment and i will be learning it this weekend to do payrolls starting Monday. it may be a couple of late nights and this is my stress-reliever.

BTW - I mentioned the possibility of going to Germany in Spring this year, and they are taking bets that if i go, i won't come back. Guess I would have to leave all the artic air behind and find a job somewhere in Germany. Then you could come visit me  |

I'm still not sure yet. It will eat a good part of our vacation budget so I might wait on a later convention in the NL. Or FACTS in Belgium.
