LEGEND SOCCER COMPANY
Do you like soccer (or, as the rest of the world calls it, football)? Dirk does in a big way, and it has become a family affair.

Dirk's son Roland and 2 friends have started Legend Soccer Company,  developing innovative, sustainable soccer gear (and only soccer gear). Learn about Legend Soccer Company at the link above. Dirk not only endorses Legend Soccer, he's involved with it - "and not only because Roland is my son."

I liked the movie, but I couldn't help but feel like it could have been so much more. It did have a huge amount oh aaaaaw poor Kyle though... I just wanted to hug the guy hahaha

What I found a little confusing was how it was kind of a tragicomedy, with an odd mixture of serious/sad and slapstick, so you're not always sure how to react. But it's a great story, and of course well acted. I think Kyle has given me new appreciation for the strong, silent type.

I thought that combination was bit weird too. Maybe because they are really on two opposite sides of the spectrum. I mean the 80's were filled with tragicomedy movies and series, but none of those swayed back and forth like Ruckus. They tended to stay on one side. Either drama OR comedy with a smattering of the other side like sprinkles on a cake.

Yes the strong and silent type... sigh... I can tell you though that the dark, silent and mysterious type isn't that easy to live with haha. It takes a strong personality to deal with it without clipping his wings. As long as you honour his need for space and freedom, you're good. They usually don't have patience for manipulation and social rules, so you would need to accept that too.

My favorite part of Ruckus was when you first see him after he cleaned up and got new clothes. I was like OMG..

Yes that was a nice view. I liked Kyle the best when he had his old clothes back on. The red checkered shirt just didn't 'fit' him right. I liked it when they went to the carnival and he asked: does the gun fire that fast... and proceeded to shoot all ten targets. Something about charming men with rifles. ... hmmmm

Question: so I know the point of the movie was that Kyle got the freedom he wanted, and I know the reason why Jenny was a "good guy" was she understood and honored his need for freedom and didn't try to tie him down... but was I the only one having a hard time NOT seeing Kyle and Jenny together? The movie seemed to leave it with an equal chance of going either way, but... their chemistry was just so good!

I think it was left open to where they could end up together. It seemed as though Jenny would have been able to nurture Kyle and give him the support that he needed.

Yeah, I agree with both of you. In my head they stayed together, just not in a traditional way... I pictured Jenny going out to live with Kyle on his island, like Tarzan and Jane.

Ooh, great idea for a fanfic epilogue

I second that. I can always use more reading material. I would like to know how you think the future would look for the three of them (Kyle, Jenny, and her son) You already know that Kyle and her son get along (sorry, forgot his name). Would Kyle stay on the island or eventually move to the house?

Thanks. I can't see Kyle living in town, so he'd probably stay on the island. Maybe they'll build a house there I haven't watched the movie in a while. I might have to refresh my memory
