Dirk Digital Spy Thread (What happened?)

Hi just tried to go on to the Dirk/Starbuck/Face appreciation thread and loads of pages seem to have been removed; does anyone know what happened just out of interest? It would be a shame if the mods there saw fit to get rid of almost everything including a lot of the pictures people have put up!

It appears they've closed that thread and cut 95% of the posts. :( Would have been nice to get some warning of it...

I hadn't noticed until now (because I wasn't around much either), but obviously they closed it. It's a real shame, it was a wonderful thread with 70k+ posts. It was pretty quiet all year, but it got worse after some problems with a certain member. How sad is it that we defended it, only to loose the thread now, thanks to missing interest. :cry: :cry: :cry: :cry:

Most of the pics will probably be lost now, because many of the people who posted them aren't around much anymore. However, maybe that's another very good reason to help building up Tracy's 'Lounge' (http://dirkbenedict.proboards55.com/index.cgi (http://dirkbenedict.proboards55.com/index.cgi)) as a reliable picture base?!? Of course that will only work, if some more people (than the currently three or four I can name in the whole fandom!) are willing to post pics occasionally.

That is just strange. I went to it, couldn't remember what the last page was so went up to "Appreciation" link, found Dirk's, hit on "Last" and there it is. Earlier this morning it was listed as "Closed". But why don't the other pages show up? And when I bookmarked the last page, it still comes up to page 202. :confused:

Thats what I did this morning! It's such a shame what with DB Anonymous closing down buy the looks of it as well!(Sniff!) We need pics,pics and more pics!

We've got threads on this forum dating back three years, so unless something was very wrong with something, if anything has been deleted it was probably by accident. We don't just delete stuff.

So help me out. Where was the thread in question (which forum), and how long ago was the last post in it?

They're talking about a DB appreciation thread that was started over on Digital Spy UK forums when Dirk was in the BB house. It was over 75,000 posts and now it's been reduced to 202 pages. Used to be over 3000.

Okay, I've taken a closer look at that matter now and this is what I found out:

They have split the thread in 14 parts. Part 1 - 13 are closed, but still accessible through this link (scroll down to locate the thread):

I think DS are just doing some 'Autumn cleaning up' before the new series of Celebrity Big Brother starts in January! They've presumably only got so much 'live' space available, so they make room by archiving a lot of stuff onto different servers, that people will access less often? (Wow, I almost sound like I know what I'm talking about! :p) Last year they didn't do CBB - Dirk et al. had made too much trouble the year before! :p So they had another format, which was rubbish. Now they're back to the same old thing! :p Err ... I mean the format, not Dirk! :o :p

Btw, is it only me that is having trouble with DBC? Very slow and problems 'replying' to PMs? :( :cry:
