It was 30 years ago tonight - 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 1978 - that Battlestar Galactica premiered.

One of the stars was - big shock - Dirk Benedict (see the picture at the top of the page if you don't believe me).

Wow, how time flies....I remember being in my basement at home, 14 years old and having my father tell my brothers that it was my show we were watching that night...we had only had cable for about a year and other than sports, news, and 3 basic channels, we had to take turns watching shows because the other tv's in the house were not connected to the cable. I had a crush on Shawn Cassidy of The Hardy Boys, but that night of the premier of Battlestar Galactica, I dropped Shawn and have been a loyal fan of the show and of course, Dirk, ever since...It was great that when my kids were old enough, they put it back on the space channel here and so my son thought it was cool and would watch it with me....it is timeless!

As the Amiga Sharon, I had 14/15 years when the series ran in Brasil.
I still travel in the stars ever found that the episodes.
Galactica is forever, is immortal!
