How can I make an avatar?

Hi friends!
I'd like to ask you if you know how I have to do to create an avatar.

Maybe somebody of you will remember my avatar was a photo of my horse.
A member of this board, Ramona, created it for me..
At the moment the file isn't available anymore, cause it was temporary. and the URL address doesn't work anymore.

I still have the photo and I'd like do create the avatar again, but I'm not able to do it.
First of all, I haven't got a photobook online.. so.. how can I do?

I know there are do many experts onlline (Anne, we know you're an artist..!!)....!!! So, if anybody could help me to have back my ava I'd be very thankful!!!

Don't panic!
You can create a photobucket account. You can also post picture files from your computer.
If anyone would like me to create one for them, please PM me. You can send me the image and I'll PM you back with the url when the image is finished or email you the image directly if you prefer.
Also ask Tracy to see if any of the avatars are on file in backup.

You can also select you avatar under User CP.
It gives you the option of the url for the image or the image directly from your computer.
If anyone has any questions you can ask Tracy, Dawg, Warrior. Mrs. Spooky (did I leave anyone out?) or you can PM me.

Actually avatars aren't that difficult to make.
You can even download free programmes to save images and resize them.
I just crop the image, adjust the colour, etc. and then increase the image and then I resize it. ;)

Here's a site where you can download free photo software.

This is a very nice photo editing program.
You can adjust the image and do a lot of other stuff.
I also use Image Resizer Pro.
Also check on Google for free trial downloads. There are lots of programmes to choose from. ;)

We've got many talented people here that can help when you need it. ;) :D

I use Photofiltre

It's freeware, without all the bells and whistles of Photoshop but very easy to use. Once you have your picture, you can make it whatever size you want, so it's a piece of cake to make an avatar. :) And then you just upload it directly to your profile here.
