Happy NewYear to all...
How have your holidays been? What have you done, with whom have you shared the comming of the new year?

We have awoken our two kids (3 and almost 6 years old) about a quarter to 0:00 to watch the fireworks with us (Mom and Dad and my parents). It was again a lovely sight to see my eldest (a boy) just glow in the late night, glowing with happiness to share this special event. My youngest (a girl) had a little trouble waking up, but eventually also enjoyed the sight of poofs and stars in the late night sky.

So a few free holiday days are still there. Although my husband has to start work tomorrow again. With my boy I will go to "our" horse, or I should say pony. It is not ours, we are allowed to visit him whenever we want and cuddle it and work with it (for free! there still are people who don't want te get rich of someone elses need). It is a young horse, almost 3, so I will be helping the owner to "break it in". Although we use natural horsemanship, so there will be no violence involved. It is a Fjord and it is strong, but has a gentle nature. I take care of it with my son, for his benefit in self-esteem and fysical gain. My son has some problems with his right hand. He has a cerebral palsy (very mild, but it is there). With my daughter I also will do some nice things, like bying shoes. Yes she is 3 (december 20th) but she is a real girly girl: Loves shoes since she was about 1 year old! My parents are living here close by (since about a month. Before that they lived 75 minutes driving away so the kids are loving it that they moved this way!) and they are happy to watch over one of my kiddies so I can do some fun mother-and-one-child quality time with either my eldest or my youngest.

What will you be doing these days (If you do not have to work?)

Love and greetings, Zilfstar

2008 is going to be a year of organizing for me. Everything from my computer files to stories to house and yard. I keep thinking back to when my son was little, and I was a single mom working full-time - *had* to be organized to survive and still have quality time with him. After the holidays, decided it was time to get back to that again, so I have time for the things I really want to do. That, plus I want the "big" house all cleared up and ready for when I move into my dad's workshop to live. That's going to be a treat - going from 11 rooms and four floors to 2 rooms and 2 floors  Definitely more my style

Happy New Year/Neues Jahr/Gott Nytt År!

Well, the one party to be at here in my area was THE place to be, the guest list was over 500 and as me and hubby were two of the guests we had a wonderful time! Live band, dancing all night and a chance to talk with a singer who'd come down from Fayetteville to perform and get news of the latest to do with the tribute scene locally. (She wants to do the part of Frida in any upcoming shows!) So I, for one, am glad to have met her. She was also a great mezzo-soprano! Talk about fate! (As some of you know, I do the part of Agnetha in our local circuit, when I'm not doing the obligated Mary Hopkin/Olivia/etc.) anyway, the party was a benefit for a good cause and they raised a good deal of money. They should have, it was 100$ a table! The food and drinks and entertainment was top-notch!

On the stroke of midnight, hubby and I kissed and danced. We all sang the verses for that old song played every new year...you know which one! and we hung out until the wee hours. Today, for New Year's Day, the family; we're all going to see 'I Am Legend', because at Christmas Day, we had all seen 'National Treasure: Book of Secrets'...so we're seeing the other box-office topper today. Speaking of which, I gotta get going!

See ya all next time! HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!

Nicole! So sorry to hear that - it's so heart breaking when that happens. I've lost several, and each one hurts just as much as the first. Pets are so special - the one and only unconditional love.

Thank you all, it hurts really bad. I'm heart broken...I have more pets around me but nobody can replace my sweet baby girl or take away my pain. Only time will heal this gigantic wound but it will leave another scar.

Hello Nicole,
I am sorry about your pet. I have pets too, love my pets.
I can good understand what you are feeling. I think pets are members of
a family and it takes time. But the sun will shine again.

Many Greetings

Petra
