Almost a year ago since CBB5 with Dirk. I'm reminded because at this time now last year was all the hype about who was going to be in the house come January, tabloids fenzy. Of course it's not back this coming year, I think they have some other show where contestants in the BB house are controlled from the outside by celebs or something. Sounds rubbish.
Funny thing is, I've still got big chunks (a good few hours) of live footage on my DVR that I still haven't erased yet from CBB5. I've also got this little metal case full of DVDs of all the shows I recorded.

Another year another revamp, on my other forum my forum pal said she still watches Cbb for Dirk and can't believe its nearly a year...
(ps In case you are a Ricky Gervais fan, his Christams Extras was very poignant and included a send up of CBB  )

*sighs* I remember it like it was yesterday too. I'll never forget seeing Dirk coming up on the screen as the final housemate. Neither will my husband or the neighbours for that matter  I screamed the place down
I'd love to go back to it all...just when Jan looked boring and mundane there was Dirk on my screen 24/7
I joined the Big Bro forums at that time too, and met some of the most amazing people there. So I'm very nostalgic about it at the moment
He should have won of course :x

I agree that Dirk should have won. In my mind he was the "true winner". :D

Extras was fantastic  8) - Ricky was totally Dirk in the Diary Room - (in an homage sort of way! ). EDIT - OK, not 'totally' but black t-shirt and slicked back hair, and grimacing at the camera, it was a bit like Dirk? ) I was quite annoyed with Ricky at the start (whole show was 80 mins long), but when his redemption came during the CBB bit at the end, all I kept thinking was 'yes, yes, yes, that's exactly what I think about celebrityness!' - except of course Ricky said it about 100,000 times better!
At the end I saw that it is a BBC/HBO co-production, so hopefully it'll be shown on US tv too (don't know about Canada! ) If I find his CBB rant about celebrityness on the ether, I'll link it here! 8)
EDIT - apparently it was already shown on HBO mid Dec!

Right, I found it easy-peasy!
Haven't had a chance to re-watch all of it. The bit about celebrityness is after about a minute of part 2.
For those of you who don't watch Extras, Ricky Gervais plays Andy Millman who was an 'extra' with his friend (played by Ashley Jensen). Andy gets a break and becomes a star, but his best friend is struggling and has to do some cleaning jobs and down-size to a grotty bed-sit to make ends meet.

Andy and Ashley (sorry can't remember her character's name! ) always joke about 'OR' games - ie what would they rather be, this OR that. The last one was
What would you rather be? A penguin who can't fly but swims in the sea, or a flying fish who can fly and lives in the sea (oh dear I can't remember it properly, but then I didn't think I needed to cram this for a Dirky web-site post! :P ). Andy doesn't answer the question because he's in a foul mood coz his career is plummeting, hence him doing celebrity big brother. OK, hope that helps before you watch part 2.

Thanks deebee for that xx

I can remember this time last year so well watching Dirk on BB5, it was a shame it ended and I can't believe a year has passed. It was inspiring watching and listening to Dirk.
Someone has put up lots of video clips of Dirk in BB5 on youtube, I've spent the last couple of days watching them. Check them out....

There's been a whole bunch of new ones put up in the last day or so. Of Dirk and Leo chatting. Some of them are hilarious.
