In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

— John McCrae

I remember that poem very well.
I'm at home right at the moment. And it's getting close to 11 a.m. where I live.
I always make sure to take a moment and do observe a moment of silence when the clock strikes 11 a.m. to honour those brave people.
Thank you for posting this.

Regardless of one's own politics or opinions, we should always give respect to those who did their duty, regardless of their own politics or opinions, because it was their duty.

I put out our flag today in honor of my father (Army), and brothers (Air Force and Marines), and all veterans who answered the call.
