Folks,

I would just like to address a potential "problem" that seems to be creeping ever closer to this place and would like to put the kibosh on it ASAP.

One of our forum rules states that if a member here decides to post inflammatory or abusive statements against Dirk, or any member of this forum elsewhere, they shouldn't expect to stay a member HERE for long.
Such has been the case developing. I am witnessing statements here made by members ending up on blogs elsewhere with abusive retorts. First of all, any one persons comments on this board are meant for THIS board. Don't go plucking posts from anyone here and using them to wage a personal battle elsewhere. That's just plain rude.

One the topic of Cyberstalking. IT'S A CRIME. Plain and simple. If another fan is harassing you here, the ADMINS want to know about it. If they are doing it elsewhere and are a member here, their membership will be deleted and their IP banned. Plain and simple. If it continues, my advice to you would be to contact the proper authorities.
We won't have that crap here. The Admins take every precaution to make sure our members list is kept private to prevent people from being harassed.

If a member has a personal beef with Dirk, which some seem to have, or me, or any member or moderator/admin here, we really need to ask ourselves WHY that person is even a member here if we are seeing abuse elsewhere.

This website was created for the purpose to bring fans together who had a common interest. It has grown into a community of sharing and friendships. I will do whatever is necessary to make sure it remains that way and flourishes forward.

Anyone who is a member here who insists on bashing this site, it's owners, DB, or members anywhere else take heed.....I will have no hesitation to remove you from this place if it continues. Permanently.

Thank you Tracy! I was just about to send you a pm to have all my posts removed and hide me from a certain individual who has access to this site, who has stalked me for four years about, now.

In 2005, after more than a year of being bombarded with threats via email and my home phone, having to change my phone number, having to set ALL my groups I administrate to the tightest security possible, having to hide all my accounts in other networks and having to get ALOT of posts deleted from other boards where I never even posted but used my name had finally resulted in my having to get a restraining order against that individual.

In 2006, the police had been contacted so many times that they paid a visit to this individual's residence and told this individual strenly to STOP her stalking or else she'd face charges. The mountain of evidence showed that she walked right through the restraining order and kept making contact with me and others who were left vulnerable to her stalking. This having taken place on several yahoogroups and livejournals, not to mention directly via emails.

I have been working my ass off and contacting the police on a regular basis and it seems that stalking isn't taken as seriously as we'd like it to be taken by authorities. Let me know if there's anything I missed...because I've even sat in the local office of the FBI and showed them all this evidence and given them all the information they need. I'm in constant contact with Adam Holland of the Fort Smith Police Cyber Crime Unit and I've sent him all the recent URLs and such.

To my knowledge several of my posts here ended up on another abusive blog in MySpace, with more retorts and included threats stating that I would be burned alive for being born under a certain zodiac sign (the subject of being burned alive in various ways has been stated, ad nauseum, by this individual), and other harassing and insane retorts to my posts here...my posts here having been just polite conversation between me and some of my friends here, having nothing to do with anything negative and totally innocent and truthful posts about just normal, day-to-day stuff in general. I found myself having to defend myself again and started to feel that none of the admins here were going to step in and take action, instead I imagined that I'd be told that it was my problem and that I should ignore this individual - WHICH I DO IGNORE HER! But I get informed of things, and informed of misdeeds and all that via other sources, etc. It's like I cannot even go online without some news, somewhere, because I'm connected to ALOT of people here. I'm ever the target, and that's one of the reasons why I hardly post here because when I do...it's an immediate attack on me somewhere, no matter how innocent my posts are, no matter how mundane and everyday and common my posts are, they're immediately zeroed in on and stalked and end up on some insane profile elsewhere.

While I don't presume to speak for Dirk, I would like to extend my disappointment that this hasn't been brought to the attention of authorities on his end, if I'm guessing right. I have a RIGHT to be safe here, and have rights as an American to NOT live my life having to fear and look over my shoulder. I'd like to be able to post more but...well there it is.

I do thank you Tracy, I have stood by you, and will stand by you. The angst isn't toward you or any friends here, it's just that I have even gone to the FBI and this process to bring a criminal to justice has been an awfully slow process, despite the mountain of evidence and how it keeps being added to...

Just a sidenote whilst I'm thinkin' about it....

This is what upsets me the most.

99.9% of the fans here are honest to goodness decent intelligent folks.
I wouldn't be wasting my time if I honestly didn't believe that.
It's the .01% that do everything in their power to destroy it for the rest.
It's amazing the impact that has on a fandom if it's allowed to happen.

It pains me to know people ( including myself ) have to go "under the radar" to be a fan for fear of being harassed by people who are just plain angry, sad individuals.
Quite frankly, it pisses me off.

Do you know pretty much every board, group, et al has had to tighten their security across the board and have been for years now BECAUSE of that 1% that has nothing better to do than to stalk, threaten, intimidate, bully and harass every fan or connected person to Dirk and his career?

So at least, this site isn't alone, we've ALL had to tighten security to the point of extreme porportions! I'd like to be able to open up my groups again, my ABBA, CK, and the other groups I help moderate and/or own. And wow - how great would it be if I could make my MySpace profile public again!!! But knowing what's out there and how obsessed it is with me...I can never let my guard down until I received some great news like, perhaps, that an arrest was made and it would be along the lines of the individual was in prison for a long time.
