I am writing on behalf of my wife, I know most of you all know she has been ill for quite a while--she misses you all and the discussions about her childhood crush--she asks that you all remember us as we go through a rather difficult situation. She sends her love and hopes to chat with you all in the near future. Thank you.
Sincerely,

Thank you all for the wonderful support you have shown my wife--it has meant so much to both of us. Peg went into the hospital for her third resection due to Crohn's disease on May 14th---after what we consider nothing less than miraculous she is home--after a 2 week stay. She is very weak, yet smiles --Your thoughts and prayers have helped pull her through this very rough patch--in fact--you truly have no idea how serious her condition had become--but I Thank God I have my wife--she is my life and I can't imagine it without her---she truly is so very special. She misses you all and hopes to talk to you very soon--continue to remember us and Peg as she recovers. Again, Thank you all for your love and support.
Kyvettegirl's husband
P.S. will keep in touch as she recovers---Donna, thank you for being there for us.

Just was wondering how the two of you are doing? What was Tropical Storm Barry is aimed at us and will be hitting sometime within the next twenty-four hours. Around here, oh, could we use the rain as the ground has huge cracks in it.
Just was wondering how things were going due to the heat. Just wanted to let you know someone is thinking about you. Take care.

Dear Everyone,
As I read your postings of encouragement, love and prayers all I can do is cry and say God bless you each and every one. The journey has been long, but we are beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel--I wear down easily, but I am just so grateful to be here---my intestines had completely shut off--the description given was that the opening that goes from the large intestine to the small intestine had narrowed to the size of a hummingbird's beak--so that wasn't good--but my Doctors are hopeful that this might be my last resection for a while--I'm hoping and praying for good.
I truly do not know what I would have done without my dear husband--thank you for keeping him in thoughts and prayers as well. Ron truly took " through sickness and health" straight to his heart--he's been my life and my reason for even trying for the last 17 years. I am blessed in so many ways--more than I could ever deserve.
I'm beginning to get out a little, gaining a little more strength every day, this is my first computer visit--and where else would I even dream of going other than where my dearest online friends are: Dirk Benedict Central. It is my sincerest hope that one day that I can show to each of you as much encouragement and love as you have shown us--Again, Thank you and many Blessings to you all. :D
With Lots of Love, Peg (KyVetteGirl) and Ron

Dear Friends,
I am sorry it has taken me so long to get back, I am sorry to say that Peg has taken a turn, we thought she was on the mend but we have been back to the hospital for treatent and a blood transfusion and it looks as if another one may be at our door. The testing showed another Crohns stricture, just forming above where the last surgery ocurred. Peg is having a lot of pain, and she has to stay medicated, she sleeps mostly--but tries to smile and say everything is okay even when its not. I appreciate you thoughts and prayers, please do not stop. I need her, she is everything to me. I appreciate your comments, but I feel helpless amd it hurts to see her in this shape. i am the lucky one, for having this girl as my wife, she is so special. Anyone that really knows her can tell you she loves everyone , never sees the bad, only the good. So again I ask that you pray and think of her when you can. thank you all for your care and concern--May the Lord bless you all.
Sincerely, ron

Dear Friends,
Just wanted to update you all, Peg is pretty much the same, her pain is rough at times, as i told you before she tries to hide it, even though it's very evident. she hasn't been eating much, but will drink fluids(water, juices) I know pepsi probably doesn't count, but if she wants something and will eat or drink it i'm going to see that she has it. I told her you all were on her side and praying, she smiled and said she missed you all and loves you. I am getting information from Cleveland Clinic, I have to do something. Friends of ours have told me that it is #2 in Crohns research and treatment, if any of you all know anythng about Cleveland, please share. She does not want to go, I know she's afraid and is tired of the tests and procedures-they can be intense, and if someone is alredy weak, hard to get through. Have a good labor day and thanks again for the thoughts and prayers.

Ron, this is late because I've not been by in a while, but everything I've ever heard about Cleveland Clinic is they're awesome. Research, treatment, nursing staff—all awesome and they attract a lot of talented, top of their field, specialists.
I hope Peg has found some relief and that you've had some breaks from caring for her.

Dear Friends
Thank you so much for the prayers and thouhgts, I took Peggy to Lexington (KY) to see a Gastroenterologist who supposedly did his residecny at Cleveland. I took her out of there after he did a colonoscopy on her (11/26/07)--he only made things worse-she is not doing at all well. i won't name the doctor--but he kept her mostly awake for the procerdure, she was crying when they wheeled her into recovery--they had hurt her by not puting her to sleep--the nurse who was with her showed me where Peg had held on to her during the scope--you could see where her hand had been (the nurses are was red and indented from Peg's grip). The only reason we went was this Doctor came so highly recommedned and was supposed to be one of the best in the state--needless to say I told him what I thought and how inhumane it was to hurt someone who had told him before the scope that she had to be put to sleep because of the ulcerations and adhesions on her intestines- he ignored her completely. Peg has had , on the average, 1-2 colonscopies in the last 15 years, so she knows the drill. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, I'm sorry I had not sent word to you all--in fact my sister Patty is being kind enough to notify all our friends, family and loved ones about Peggy. Note* Peggy is in a great deal of pain right now and we are debating whether or not to call an ambulance, she says no--and tries to smile and make us believe everything is okay. Again please pray for Peggy and Ron. they are both suffering, just in different ways. --Patty

So very sorry to hear of Peg's pain and hope and wish it eases soon.
A suggestion (please ignore if not relevant) - perhaps if the current pain meds aren't working, you should go back to your docs (not the one you described above! :x ) because there are many others they could try - everybody is different and not every pain med works the same on each individual? :?
Also, have the docs recommended any special foods that might help by easing the inflammation in Peg's intestines, or not exacerbate the situation? I kinda think of the gut walls like skin :? - once it's inflammed, like eczema on the skin, then anything you put on it can cause inflammation? If the docs haven't got any suggestions, I'm sure there are patient groups out there on the internet who might have some suggestions.
I'm so, so sorry if this sounds like interference or bossiness  - it's not meant to be - I just thought in case you haven't covered these bases, it's worth mentioning it - so sorry if this is old ground for you.
Best wishes
Ingra
