Beautiful images of Dirk in Gallactica and good music!
I think Dirk as actor is like in his real life, because they are the same expressions of face those that put in the films that in the CBB. He's lovely, seducer and charmer man.
Dont' you believe? :P

I think Dirk as actor is like in his real life, because..

It's true that the much of the character of Starbuck was inspired by Glen Larson's(and a couple of Universal studio producers) meeting with him; it was a combination of circumstance and luck that the final character took on so much of the features of actor.

Hi everyone! :D
I read somewhere that they didn't think Dirk was sexy enough for the role of Starbuck.
Can you imagine that?!
I am glad that Larson cast Dirk in the role.
Dirk Benedict is the "one and only true" Starbuck! :D :D

take care,
Anne :)

They (meaning the network, ABC) also said he wasn't old enough, sensitive enough or tough enough as well as not "sexy" enough to be Starbuck.

The studio then kicked major ass and pushed hrough Dirks casting as shooting had already started filming on BSG and ABC were dragging their heels over one of the 3 main lead roles not .

Just like his casting for Templeton Peck - the network was sure he was wrong for the role (Tim Dunagan anyone ?).

Shows how much the networks know....

Hi Sanjay! :D
I totally agree with you!
I remember seeing the first A-Team episode with Tim Dunigan in it.
Dirk was far better suited for the role.
Hmmmm....I wonder what happened to Tim Dunigan...haven't heard a lot about him since he was in the A-Team 1st episode... :?
We are so lucky that Dirk decided to become an actor and a great one he is and a terrific and genuine guy overall! :D

take care,
Anne :)

Hi Anne,

the networks couldn't see the chemistry on either occasion; with Richard Hatch & Herb Jefferson Jnr or with Dwight Schulz and George Peppard.

That sort of near alchemy happens rarely. It's why i remember BSG so fondly nearly 30 years later.

They must be blind, stupid or just jealous :)
