Hi there, I am a new DB's member from UK....just finishing reading his 1st book and getting to know Dirk a bit more...but I am also into Chinese Astrology too...here below is what I have gathered about Dirk real personality...according to his birth date 01/03/1945 and the Lunar Chinese Calender...hope you enjoy it!!

Dirk is a WOOD - (Minus sign) ROOSTER
That's why he always wakes up so early!!...
Rooster is often seen as strong silent type, consider them quite eccentric which sometimes can strain relationships, can be moody and too out spoken, can be very brave and sometimes can be very stubborn too.

Nice to meet you and other lovely members on DBC website....according to the compatability chart, says that Dog & Rooster are not compatable...difficult to get along!!...so sorry to say this and may disappoint you.
One thing, I must say is, I believe Dirk is a kinda real guy, who will approach the person that he attracts to...and because he's such a perfect guy with good quality all round that men should have ie look, brain, sense of humour and heart & so on.....therefore out of that respect, he also will have difficulty to find the right woman to come to his life too...to my honest opinion, I don't think he should find a woman espec. in showbiz...whom lots of them had let him down in the past...& should be just ordinary, warm loving with beautuful in-out and who loves him as he is...NOT as an actor nor his bank balance.

Here is some information I found :

The Rooster and the Dog have trouble communicating with one another. The Rooster insists on being in control of its immediate surroundings, including the people who happen to fall within that scope. I have looked at other Chinese astrology sites and it doesn't necessarily say that Roosters and Dogs were incompatible.

My late fiance Stan and I were together for 16 yrs and he was a Rooster! :D

I agree with you that Dirk needs someone to love him just as he is and not just as an actor nor his bank balance.

Not poking fun at anyone, but I don't think compatibility is "destined" by the stars or the moon or the planets. You meet someone, you either click or you don't. Astrology can be fun, even interesting, but I wouldn't try to start any relationship based on some pre-conceived notions of compatibility, whether it's "in the stars" or my own little brain. :wink:

Yeah, I think Dirk "clicks" with most of his fans ;-) He's very appreciative of the people who have followed his career - I think that's one of the reasons he spends so much individual time with people at the conventions, really making everyone feel special. That, plus he loves to talk! :lol:

Well, I don't think I would get on with Dirk... alhough I'm a blonde ! Was born in 1951..the year of the rabbit. I've no idea what that means and dread to think. :shock: I love, his intelligence and sense of humour, but there are some things I don't, quite agree with. I'm pretty good at keeping quiet rather than objecting to other peoples' views, but that doesn't work, in the long run. My house is untidy..though never dirty -because I prefer to be in the garden, or swimming, etc ! Love, cooking and don't eat meat or sugar ....but I don't think Dirk would be pleased to wake up and find that I'd painted the kitchen yellow, -overnight....or was collecting horse manure for the garden in the rain, or making twelve jars of assorted pickles and the place stank of onions. I'm either asleep, or burning off enthusiastic energy. ( A non bossy Aries...). Is Dirk a Piscean ? I can still see the look on my ex husband's face, ( He was a Piscean)when after a heavy snowfall, I'd been sliding down the steep field outside on a piece of hardboard..face down and then shot through the wire fence at the bottom, over a lane and into someone's garden. My starkers roll in the snow in the garden at 1am when all the neighbours had gone to bed didn't go down well with him either. Poor Dirk....one of you, would be a far better match !! :)

How are U all today?....Thank U al for sharing yr hilarious thoughts/discussions with me, very pls with that...made me laugh with joy so much...for all those incoming comments...helping the working day gone by so fast!!...so keep it coming...good fun!!
I'd better go to do some more research of more topics for more fun discussion with U guys....TRUE...each to their own of belief/opinion in something...But I'm always into this sort of thing quite deeply/seriousl, even learn more about it too.....I'd like to check it out first about people around me....ie my boss...I'd asked hime,'what his birth sign is?'....during my job interview nearly 10 years ago and still there!!...kinda so so funny to see his face & to ease those tense suitiation atmosphere that I didn't like!....and MOST importantly my dear husband, he's also stumbled by it too...he's a lovely, wonderful Arien Tiger....I'm a half between Aquarius/Pices Rooster/Dog......(don't ask me why??...my parents did that!!)....and my angel, daughter is a Horse sign...well, and we all are very loving, happy family for 13 years now and ever.

In reply to yr quiz, I am afraid to say that I just discovered that U may have to face quite TOUGH competition in search for right woman for our Dirk as below,

Apart from 1st choice Ox sign, it's
= to Snake sign (1954, 1966, 1978)
2nd best: Dragon (1953, 1965, 1977)
Goat (1956, 1968)
Tiger (1951, 1962, 1975, Feb 10)

Sorry that I rectified a thing to you of the years of each chinese lunar horoscope. The years of the tiger are 1902, 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998. I had a book about this and I have confirmed it in internet. But, it's possible that I am in an error.
But...Yes! You're in the certain thing when you say that there is much competition, that if! Ja ja ja :lol:
Don't worry, friends! would be satisfied in being only a friend as I imagine that all :oops:
In any case it is what you say. To horoscop is necessary to give a relative importance, I think. Most important it is to want to be understood.

I used to be into astrology quite a lot as a teenager, both the zodiac and Chinese astrology.
Now I'm into aura colours and chakra.
I don't take all those things too seriously. I do a lot of it for fun and relaxation.
To me, I accept the person the way they are and don't try to change them.
And no, I don't really follow what sign they're born under or what it may say in the cards, like tarot readings for example.
I like men who are genuine, down to earth, have a great sense of humour and don't have a big ego. Being handsome is also an asset! :D :wink:

How r U?...so glad to hear that also enjoyed reading my silly story....so did my hubby...he's just rolling up when reading it last night....V always have opened relationship..which I think, v important..(just in case he may think I'll run off with the mysterious man on the web...just kdding!!). I think it's quite important for all human being in this unbalance world we're living today, is to maintain GSOH even just few time in the day!!

About the chinese horoscop, yes, I think too that Dirk is a genuine man, how Anne says, and if that are compatible characters more that others, but the essence is in which open and likeable people take control almost of everybody. I think. Dirk is like this people. In fact, he coexisted very well in the CBB house and he took almost or with all.

Why is it, that every time I have a lovely, dream...I can't remember a thing about the good bits or the dream alters, so that I'm doing something mundane or, some dancing dinosaurs come along, or talking rabbits, etc? About fifty times now, I've been dreamig of jogging along a woodland path in Montana, in tiny shorts I could get into ten years ago...hair blowing in the wind, sun shining on the lake and the .. :shock: :shock: -there, standing chopping wood, with his vest off..is Dirk. It all goes very well indeed... until say...the dream moves on, to buying toilet rolls and washing up liquid at the supermarket. So far, in my dream, Dirk has only stared at me and put down his chopper and invited me in to bandage my ankle after I've very carefully and deliberately fallen over.

Darling db, relax, sending good vibes ( i am a trained holistic therapist)
Use sweet orange oil as a tonic (3 drops in tepid water in an essntial oil burner or 4-6 drops in a bath) or geranium, for a slightly spiitual lift.

Phsically i would reccommend, good old lavender, thats the safest, for mental too but not too many drops because lavender can go the other way and make you alert and wake you up...
i've chosen these for you by instinct by the way, slow down a little...

Sincere thnks & BIG HUGs for yr concern.com..darling....V all got to catch up with back-log...espec. got a demanding 4 yrs old, little madam with 2 f/t parents!!...house always like a tippo...also been away last wkend...so lots to catch up...can't run & can't hide too.

I see..nice to know U're expert therapist (kinda...right)...that'd save me few box then...@ home, V got few oil U mentioned, chum....last night didn't need one...gone kasong zzz so easy....got done with 1 hr short fall...eh!!

Just missing all ME time these days...got to sacrifice 100% to my poppet...job sharing 50/50 here, sometimes needs to e a friend (like U!!) too...before she arrived..V2 off our trolly eveywhere around the globe.....one year, V2 climbing/hiking French Alpes for 2days trip...was fantastic...solitude...great satisfaction when standing on top of it...so so peaceful & spiritaul....that soundless moment!!,,,if U're into kinda adventure..as typical Gemini'd be....do try once....it's just so so special...once in the life time.....mind U!! jut look at Ostorella's piccies of NW Montana...pretty cool for hiking too....but a bit worried of them big bears though....but love to to all adventure things again in few yrs time when she's grown up...& V parents grown old!!

Ok db Just doing these things in my life now, I was a carer for all my beloveds until a few months ago, it was hard because I was the only child, so life got ' stuck'. I do get free time, No worries about morgages ,no children etc...so I have decided to be an eternal student, which I am doing succesfully.

Will catch up on U tube and nosey around on there.

As for adventure I would love to learn how to fly, I have done gliding once, so when Ithey find a convenient location , may return to it, Those piccies of Osterellas are beautiful.

The reading came at a great time as I am finishing up the food preparations for my daughter. She will be here in the wee hours of the morning to drop off items, pickup her mail and food, and then back on the road as she needs to deliver her load of Budweiser Beer, all 43,000 pounds of it by 7:00am tomorrow morning.
As for a career change, I don't think so. I prefer to have someone else to do it , so I can do other things that i enjoy doing, such as canning, making jelly and jam, gardening, sewing, needlepoint, cooking, baking, ....I think you got the hint where my heart lies.

Yes, Monday or after will be fine. So far, the males are still running far away from me. That is their loss. I laugh about the word independent. In my mind, I see someone who is truly independent as one who makes and does everything themselves. Otherwise, they grow their own wood for fuel, a home, furniture, etc. They fashion their own tools, grow the plants and/or animals to make their clothes, etc. There is nothing that is needed from the outside world. Other than that, independent means a way of boasting; inflating the ego; an excuse not to relate because of your own insecurities. We are all dependent on each other. To me, that makes life interesting, not scary. Look at what this forum contains. A wide mix of differently skilled individuals. That makes each and everyone very special in my book.
Though having too much rain is not a good thing. I hope it doesn't lead to the produce having rot problems. One thing about gardening/farming. It is never boring. Sounds like you have a yard full of goodies. I wish you well with them. Especially with that fast growing weed called your daughter. You are a very special MUM. Keep up the good work.

I am in such pain right now. I have been laughing so hard with the info you sent over. My ex is an Sagittarius-Tiger. He loved watching my blood drip from my ears, nose, and mouth.. There has been two other "men" who have been heading down the same road, but I stopped it before it got under way. Both of them matched up under the same info. Hi all! Sorry I missed alot of this thread and it's been ages since visiting... :shock:

My Chinese sign is that of the strong horse so I've been living life to its fullest, staying healthy and alot of travel. Astrology isn't something I've really gotten into but it's interesting nonetheless. The Chinese Astrology especially. Alot of the horse symbols transfer the travel aspect of all forms of life and I've certainly done alot of travel...past, present and future. I'd live in the Caribbean but I love it here with all the nature, over a thousand lakes, hiking trails, natural state stuff 8) but I love swimming and adore the ocean. Where I live is pretty big with over 70,000 population so you can see why I'd be comfortable on a little beach somewhere away from the hustle and bustle. I don't like big cities though I like travelling to and from, I wouldn't live anywhere near a major population - guess I'm spoilt for the outdoor life and camping (whenever I can do it) and the tax rate here is the lowest in the country. The Chinese symbol of the horse, I find, represents a traveller who feels at home when there are endless meadows and forests to explore. I love it here because there *are* plenty of forests and the rangers keep them very clean. So it's really nice here.

The Chinese population here isn't that large but there are plenty from South-East Asia and I've been thinking about taking a course to learn Thai, Laos, and Cantonese (which is a Chinese dialect) and have gotten a grasp on the Kanji (Chinese writing/characters).

Right now, I'm just taking it easy. See you all later. I'll bring my laptop so I can try to check emails when I go the Florida this upcoming month. Be good and be happy!

My hairdresser is from Laos, her name is Kom and she's a very sweet lady whose family is from Laos, and also mainland China, she is helping me to learn her language which is why I think maybe a class would be fun. I love languages and I learned English okay! :P

Kom was the one who told me about the Chinese Zodiac's meanings, I knew there was a Chinese Zodiac, just never realized how involved it was until Kom told me about ancient personages that came with the same type of myths that our own Zodiac comes with. The then-Emperor's wife and brother (Ming dynasty, I believe) and even as early as 1066 (the Zhou) were horse signs and highly revered as leaders. Although men were, of course, the emporers, the men and women born under the signs (Ox, Horse and Sheep) were very respected. The summer born children were dearly loved and always had lots of love heaped upon them. Kom tells the story so sweetly...I admire her for her way of telling the stories, her gentleness and she brings such grace to our neck of the woods. She's also very humorous and I always tip her extra because I'm learning so much from her...I have always wanted to learn so much about the Chinese, they are truly gracious people and very humble.

I cannot imagine a hateful, negative person from that area of the world...although logic says that there's good and bad everywhere and even within the Zodiac...that much is certain, but I've never met an evil Chinese person! Never once! Nowadays the Chinese take Astrology just as seriously (or as casually) as we do in Western culture. That is to say, they don't hold their horoscopes as gospel...so I've just been enthralled learning the different myths and stories about them. I'm really very interested in the language as you might be able to tell... :D 8)

Anyway, I do think over lots of things and it just comes with the territory. The music though, that's my "yoga" and my source of relaxation.
