Dear Dirk.
I wrote you awhile back and just wanted to keep in touch.
I hope that I had the correct address.
I would cordially like to invite you for a visit. It is a tradition in my family, since I am of German background.
I normally don't do this, but I have always admired you and have great respect for you, not just as person, but also for your accomplishments as an actor, the books you have written, and so much more..
I trust and hope that I am not being too forward, I am a very shy person by nature.
I thought that this might be a good way of trying to get in touch with you since I am not exactly sure, when I would be able to attend any of your appearances/conventions..
If you would like to get in touch with me, please do not hesitate to do.
It would be a sincere honour and pleasure to meet you.

regards,
Anne :)

p.s. You can contact me via email, if you wish do to so.

And what are the odds on him actually reading it?

Hello!
i honestly don't know.
But, it doesn't hurt to try, you won't get results if you don't try.
Right?
Thanks for the response.

take care,
Anne :)

Hi,
Did you send the letter in the post? If so how did you get his address? It will be interesting to see if you get a reply. I sincerely hope you do. When I was a teenager I wrote to William Shatner for my Mum, and she was really shocked to get a very nice letter back.

Hello!
I got his address at DirkBenedictAnonymous.
I have written him before, the letter's weren't sent back to me.
I think they must have reached him.
I haven't gotten a response yet.
I do realize that the man is very, very busy.
Can you imagine how many letters he must be getting?
I am in the process of sending him this one, with my home address and phone number attached.
I don't know if I'll get a response for certain, but I am willing to take that risk. :D
So, I'll keep you all posted!
Thanks for all the encouragement!
It would be both a very, very happy surprise and I confess a (wonderful) shock, if he did respond!. :D
Wish me luck!

take care everyone,
Anne :)

When I was watching CBB live on E4 one day I did hear a conversation Dirk was having with someone (might have been Jack...not sure) and he was talking about fan mail. The sound went off but before it did he did say he gets quite a bit of it (as you can imagine!) but I wish i'd got to hear the whole conversation...!

Hello!
Yes, Dirk probably has tons of fan mail!
I was very nervous when I posted this letter.
I wasn't sure what kind of a response I would get.
I lost my fiance Stan three years ago to lung cancer. He and Dirk would be the same age.
I am 48.
My family and friends are encouraging to meet someone or start the dating scene.
I am not into that.
I tend to like to be by myself.
Dirk is down to earth, has a lovely sense of humour, and doesn't have a big ego.
He has all the qualities I look for in a person.
Both physically outside and especially the goodness inside.
i sincerely hope to hear from him.
Thanks again for the encouragement!

take care everyone,
Anne :)

Hello!
Thank you for the information.
I wanted to thank everyone for their support.
Some of my friends have been telling me to give Dirk more details about myself.
I've told them, I don't want to appear too forward.
Some of them have said update your passport and go visit him!
I just told them, that would appear way too forward!
I would be very shy , as much as I'd like to meet him.
The chief reason I wrote Dirk, was that I thought it would be nice that he receive some photos and a hello, without having something expected in return.
He probably gets tons of requests for autographs and the like.
You know what I mean?
Maybe, I should have told him a little bit about myself, but, I am very private by nature.
When, I lost my fiance Stan, three years ago. I was very, very sad and depressed.
Dirk actually helped me cope through it.
Just seeing Dirk smile, laugh, and especially the fact, that he doesn't have a big ego, is what made decide to try to write to him. He is warm and genuine and really down to earth.
I don't know whether or not he will actually respond.
But, I thought I'd try again.
Who knows what will happen.
Thanks again everyone for supporting me.

regards to everyone,
Anne :)

Dear Anne,
I must applaud your efforts, and I truly hope they are rewarded beyond your expectations--My sympathy on the loss of your fiance.
When I was a teenager I was so in love with Mr. Benedict, I bet I sent a hundred letters to him via NBC--Momma said I was wasting my time and money--well, in about 6 weeks or so I came home from school and guess what? I had an 8 X 10 photo of the A-Team---and it was autographed--I was on cloud nine, actually cloud 10 (if it exists).
I went home during Christmas and brought all my Dirk treasures home--it brought back a lot of memories--I guess this girl from the south will always have a place in her heart for Dirk---so I want to leave you with a quote from one my favorite writers:

"I have learned, that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours" --Henry David Thoreau

Best wishes for "unexpected successes" :)

Hi!
Thanks for the encouragement.
The address that I do have is from 2000.
If anyone has a more current address, or a better way of contacting Dirk, please let me know.
I would greatly appreciate it.
I was nervous about posting my letter here, and was hesitant, thinking it might not be such a good idea...
But, I am very pleasantly surprised and happy at how nice and supportive everyone has been, regarding my efforts to get in touch with Dirk..
We had more than 50cm of snow again here in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada.
My whole body aches from shoveling.
I NEED A VACATION :(
So, now I am relaxing at home with my two cats J.J. and Tigger.
I live by myself, but my family came over to help me shovel the snow.
Thank goodness. :D
Again thanks for all your support, it really touched my heart! :D

take care,
Anne :)

p.s. I am looking out my living room window and more snow is coming down! :o .I am going to get a glass of wine..then have a hot bath...I pray spring comes early...

Hi Anne, I live on the Westcoast of Canada near Vancouver. All our snow is gone now back to the rain! I wrote a letter to Dirk a number of years ago when I first read his books. I have not received a reply either. Don't be disheartened I am sure he tries to read as many as possible but, it would be a full time job answering all the letters from fans he must get. I visited Bigfork a couple of years ago it is BEAUTIFUL. The people are great although they claim they rarely see Dirk being the recluse he is. The best way to see him is at one of his appearances he is charming and gracious and would happily sign a picture for you. He autographed my book and I had my picture taken with him. ( I had to pay for both ) I didn't mind one bit! Anyway if you are ever in my neck of the woods look me up we have similar interests ( DIRK )lol :D

Hi Denise!
THANK YOU! :D
Just sent off the letter I wrote to Dirk, today.
Who knows what will happen?
It's so nice to hear everybody's encouragement, regarding my letter.
I won't give up hope.
Anyway, if you're in my neck of the woods, drop by!
It's nice to hear from a fellow Canadian.
You're so lucky, you got to meet Dirk!
Send some good luck vibes my way, eh? :D

take care,
Anne :)

DIRK HOPE TO MEET YOU SOON! :D

p.s. Hi Tracy! :D
