By the looks of things he will be until the police have finsihed their investigation into the whole racial issue:

Police sources revealed others in the unlikely line-up are Jade Goody, Jo O’Meara, Jade’s mum Jackiey Budden, Dirk Benedict and Jermaine Jackson — for his comment about “white trash”.

Former A-Team star Dirk is set to be grilled for saying Indians are “taking over” Britain. Jade is in the Priory after sinking into depression and Jo has had death threats.

I thought the "Sun" was a tabloid paper. So it may not even be true.

I can confirm Dirk is back in the states (with a severe case of jet lag) and is recuperating.

The BB racist comments are getting blown all out of proportion. Dirk's comment is an obvious observation on the nationalities in this country. Alot of shops are owned by indians that is just an observation, and not intended to be racist. Just like quite a few supermarkets are owned by Germans.

Hi..I've just joined. I had a look at a tape I made of some of BB and what Dirk said wasn't derogatory at all. He said that one day Britain might have a leader like Nehru or Ghandi..but that wasn't said as if that would be a bad, thing. He conducted himself so well, throughout those weeks of other people's ghastly behaviour. I hope that he's having a well earned, stree free rest, now!

Hi everyone!
I heartily agree that Dirk conducted himself very, very well.
He and Jermaine, were in my opinion the 2 real winners of Big Brother.
All the others in the house, should take a lesson from them.
Crazy Tommy T thanks for all your images and url links.
I'm still having problems with mine (making the image appear on my post reply), even after I installed imageshack on my computer.
That's what you get after too many computer repairs, IT work and selling AVON on the side.
I am now on two days vacation. :D
But, I couldn't help getting together with everyone here.
We're like family in a way. That's the way I feel.
Hey, I know!
WE ARE ALL PART OF DIRK BENEDICT'S EXTENDED FAMILY! :D :D
How about that, everyone?
WE ALL LOVE AND SUPPORT HIM! :D :D
Right?
Family isn't just blood ties, it's friendship and more!

warm regards,
Anne :)

I agree with all the other Brits that have replied, that there wasn't anything inflammatory in Dirk's comments. So, his figures weren't quite accurate, but I bet they were a more accurate estimate than 99% of the British public could give off the top of their head. I was actually rather flattered that he gave us credit for having the acumen to vote for a Ghandi or Nehru as PM.

I thought he was just teasing Shilpa a bit, having a little laugh. She was almost giggling herself anyway.
As far as I know I thought all the housemates were being questioned for info on what happened, not because they were all accused. I wouldn't trust the Sun to have nailed exactly what's going on.
