View Full Version : Dirk - my winner of CBB
The thread title says it all! For me, Dirk was the true winner of BB (taking nothing away from Jermaine and Shilpa, who were my 2nd and 3rd favourite housemates).
I would never have watched show if he wasn't in it - but I think he did himself and his fans proud.
Thanks Dirk :D

I never watched the show until I noticed Dirk was on it. I've rediscovered him after more than 20 years! I was about 15 the last time I took a great deal of interest in him. I lived and died for the A team back then! It's been interesting watching and learning about the real Dirk. A truly fantastic guy. No way does he look nearly 62, and he is so fit. He could give someone 20 years younger a run for their money.

Hi!
I've followed Dirk's career for nearly 31 years.
He looks as good now as he did when he played Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica and Face on the A-Team.
I agree no way does he look 61, 40 maybe...
I hope to someday be able to meet him in person.
That would be an honour! :D
take care,
Anne :)

I agree Dirk should have won... Shilpa was lovely, but I found her a bit selfish, Jrmaine was lovely too... but I found him so boring.. he hardly spoke, and when he did, he always said something philisophical... the programme that was shown on channel 4 probably showed all he ever said!!
Dirk was so entertaining, his sense of humour was fantastic... as I have said, I actually paid to get the 24/7 live feed from channel 4... I watched it as often as I could.. never usually watch the programme, but I just couldn't get enough of Dirk. It made me mad when a really interesting conversation between Dirk andf Jermaine was going down, and the camera feed from them stopped and we had to watch the others drinking and being stupid.
Dirk's knowledge of theatre was awesome... I'm a Shakespeare addict and was dead interested in Dirk's views on him..
Enough of my drivel... I just think he is FANTASTIC

Hi,
Yes it would be an honour to meet him. I knew when he entered the Big Brother house that he is a Pisces. I could tell straight away without evening knowing when his birthday is. All the characteristics of a pisces man, and I always know when I meet one. I wonder how he manages to look so good in the morning, even Shilpa had to put dark glasses on first thing in the morning! :D

I've tried to get back to normal today - been to the gym after work - but first thing I did when I got in was to watch Dirk's eviction - AGAIN! He is just perfect - handsome, intelligent, witty and so sexy. he says he's going to write another book which is great but I hope that doesn't mean he retires to Montana for the next year and we don't get him back on our screens where he belongs

I got my pic - with Dirk - in the London Lite, on page 11. Any south east of England members may have noticed it, with me next to a large pic of Sienna Miller, out on the town without any skirt on.

How about as Gil Foley in Chopper 1 ?
Not to gloat but I did meet and chat to Dirk a few years back(as evidenced by the above post of mine) - we talked about the difference between Japanese and Chinese woks and dealing with 2 boys (I have 2 sons also) - he signed a Battlestar pic .."do as your dad says, or I'll set the Cylons on you!"

No I haven't seen that one, how about Trenchcoat in Paradise ? I managed to grab a little of that by chance years ago.
On a personal note since I met him I also survived a life threatening health condition at an early(ish) age; I had a heart bypass at 38 years old. I have to say his view on life has helped me come to terms with my condition in some ways.
Oooh I'm a water sign as well. :D
Sharma, how fantastic that you met him! I'm not at all jealous, honstly (ahem!)
I'm reading Confessions of a Kamikaze Cowboy at the moment, and I have to say Dirk's outlook on life really has made me think about my own outlook on things.

He was at a 3 day convention in the North of England and I spoke to him a few times, also bumping into him between signings, when he remembered my first name, or rather his abbreviation of it "Sanj". The fact he'd seen hundreds of people since the time we were intoduced and still picked me out to say hi to speaks volumes for the kind of guy he is.

Hi!
Yes, he is man of GREAT character.
I am going to be buying "And Then We Went Fishing."
I am also going to get his German film Goldene Zeitenen "Golden Times" on DVD, from my cousin, who lives in Germany.
I've seen part of Trenchcoat in Paradise, I wonder if it's on DVD...
Any information on that?
take care,
Anne
:)
p.s. Sharma CONGRATS on coming through your bypass at 38.

Thanks for that, I needed a positive mental attitude the night before I went under the knife I can tell you !
As far as I recall i think trenchcoat was always just a telemovie so I haven't seen it on DVD anywhere as of yet.
Book wise, I thought he'd written a 3rd, "Stories of a dangerous (Montana)wordsmith" ?
I've tried to post that picture of me and Dirk but I couldn't do it, I'll e mail it if anyone will pm me for it.

Very true - I've always thought that Dirk seems a genuinely good guy, and it's nice when things are said that confirm that.
Also - I'm sorry that you had to have a bypass at such a young age, but I'm glad to hear that it went well.
