Y'know, the age thing is sooo over-rated. May-December romances work out more often than people realize...what's it matter if two people really care about each other?

Then again, on a more cynical note, maybe this is like a shipboard romance - circumstances (both being way out of their 'natural elements') magnifying things out of proportion...

I'm just glad more people are getting a chance to see the kind of man he is...:-)

Shilpa wants to marry someone from her own culture.
Shilpa has also talked about Dirk behind his back. Those comments were not very nice.

I heard from people who have met Dirk, he is naturally flirtatious and above all a gentleman.

I don't know as I'd be so adamant about it. I think they like each other enough that they might do some sight seeing. I can see them, and Jermaine, with whatever family members come to meet them - having a get-together before going their separate ways - Ian, too. I'll bet they could have a ball once the house nightmare is out of the way.

We all know Dirk likes to flirt, and he said he "picked" Shilpa because she seemed like the one most likely to have fun with it. I liked to think maybe it would work, but she's said too many things behind his back, so now I think it's just as well they just stay friends.

She was very cautious about saying and doing things 'on camera'. She might not be so guarded when they leave the house.

Yeah, I think they'd all loosen up once out of there. I think Dirk said George was going to try and come over, and Shilpa's mother and sister are there. The families might want to meet the "Friendlies" in the house - I would. :)

I think it was lovely that Dirk reacted to Shilpa as he did. He's an extremely attractive and endearing man and I'm not surprised that Shilpa reacted, to that - who wouldn't ! He seemed to enjoy the bit of harmless flirting. I was glad, to see that he knows he's still got what it takes !

He is a very handsome man. He was handsome in BG and A-Team but amazingly he has become even more handsome with age. Does everyone agree? Or is there a divide between blonde Dirk and brunette Dirk?

He was one of my very first crushes when I was a kid. He was simply beautiful in A Team. He still is now; he's one of those people who will always look fantastic - looking after himself has obviously paid off.

It's pretty clear that nothing is going to happen with Dirk and Shilpa now though. She must be crackers! If I was her, I would have jumped at the chance! :D

Dirk is a fun-loving guy.
Shilpa, beautiful and intelligent, was the only female in the house that he could actually understand and have fun with (and didn't hate, aka Cleo!).

Also, he must have picked up her vibe that she wasn't interested in anything more than harmless flirty fun, as she was already in love with someone. I recall Shilpa trying to tell one of the bullies about Dirk's past, so Shilpa & Dirk must have had some in-depth conversations early on (don't recall seeing those on the daily summaries). Therefore it wouldn't be surprising if she had talked about her own current situation at the same time?

Actually, I don't think Dirk hated Cleo - at the beginning, although he stated he was nervous around her, they seemed to spend quite a bit of time together, chatting, etc. It wasn't until her jealousy of Shilpa got the better of her that she showed her true colors. But I just read a comment from Dirk afterward where he said in "real life" circumstances they might have been friends :shock:

Yes you're right, the word 'hate' is too strong a word - I take that back!
On a different HM: Danielle
I saw a clip after the 'play' task, when Dirk was talking to one of the guys about Danielle and saying her acting was really good and that he'd love to direct her if the right part came up (sorry I'm paraphrasing but I'm sure that was the gist). That combined with his greeting to Danielle on the first night (Davina called it so right - can't seem to find a link with Davina's comment on it), suggests to me that he had a liking to Danielle (nothing heavy), problem was he couldn't understand a word she said for the first few weeks! Also at the press conference afterwards, Dirk defended Danielle (of course he hadn't seen all the backbiting behind Shilpa & his back yet) saying 'Danielle doesn't have a mean bone in her body'.

I remember when Dirk was first introduced to Danielle. I think he thought she was very pretty (he did refer to her as beautiful later on while they were in the house), but in kind of an objective way. I certainly don't think he fancied her, but perhaps felt a bit protective towards her, because in many ways she is like a little girl. I'm not a Danielle fan!!

As for Cleo - I think she has issues...her behaviour towards Dirk was odd as well as out of order. I found her slightly scary.

Its all been quiet on the cleo front over here. I don't read celeb mags ( trees get chopped down for that!!!!!) But apart from a sighting, shopping with her mum I personally not seen anything. Maybe she has seen her footage!
