Taken from Digital Spy news:
Jade, Shilpa and Carole have agreed that Dirk is a handsome man.
"On the street, a lot of my girlfriends will fall over that," said Carole of Dirk while munching on some crisps.
"I said to him, 'when you get out of here, they're going to drop at your feet'," agreed Jade, who added: "He's old enough to be my granddad but he is lovely."
"He says there are women in Montana... why haven't they grabbed him?" asked a mystified Carole. "I don't understand it."
"He said he keeps himself in his shell, his sons can't believe he's doing it cos it's so out of his character," explained Jade. "He was telling me about his first sweetheart... he wanted to go and do his acting... she went off, he went off. She said ' don't want to get married no more'. You can't deny it, he is a good looking feller for his age."
"Very fit," added Shilpa, before noting: "God, [this is] going on TV!"

Carol's been "conversing" with Dirk quite a bit now. She's the journalist, correct? I thought I saw mentioned that people couldn't write about the BB experience afterwards, but then this Jade apparently wrote a couple of books. Sorry I'm so stupid about the rules of the "game" here. Just wondering if people are forgetting she's a journalist (and apparently a rather aggressive one) when they're talking to her. I don't know, I guess it just seems rather odd to have her there if she can write all about it after. I would think that would put people off a bit, but it hasn't seemed to. But then a lot of the interactions are confusing to me

I think she wants to write about Dirk, especially now she knows about his cancer and healing with macrobiotics. There are no rules about writing about BB afterwards I don't think. Quite a few celebs sell their 'story' to a tabloid after they get out. I imagine Dirk could make a nice little pay packet on the side from that also.

Hey, great - we could see a lot about (and maybe from) Dirk with all the other housemates, then :D

More swooning happened today apparently. From Digital Spy:
The girls had a collective swoon over Dirk this afternoon, agreeing that he was the epitome of an ideal man.
Carole was the most vocal in her praise of Dirk, explaining that he has "all the right things: he'll never cheat on you, the morals are in the right place - and he cooks".
Jo, meanwhile, simply listed adjectives: "Loyal and loving, truthful and faithful."
Shilpa, 31, went so far as to say that she would go for Dirk, 61, were he not so old. "Maybe if he was younger," she mused, "I would have given it a shot."

Well, what I feared is starting. Now that Carole's been nominated by the group, she and Jade are tearing into Dirk (behind his back, of course) as if he was the cause of it.
I'm starting to hope he decides he'd just rather be home with the boys and walks out. So frustrating...

As much as I'm enjoying having Dirk in my living room everynight I have to agree that I wish he'd get out of there!!!! Although I will text so that he gets loads of votes, It's like a catch 22!!!! My social life has gone out of the window  I rush home to get the live footage at 6pm. Then its the BB Little Bro show. Then the catch up show. Then Big Mouth at late o'clock....... Then its all the live updates on digital spy during the day.... But its all worth it for those moments with Dirk :D

I just hate to see him getting dissed like that. He's had enough of that crap already - and not being able to tell those women off is just incredibly irritating...

Do you think it's going to get more ugly for him because he's so popular with folks "outside" the BB house, or do the rules limit how much one HM can trash another?

Well, the people inside don't know what the people outside are doing, so they probably don't know. Frankly, I don't understand how Dirk got caught in the middle of the Carole/Cleo thing anyway. And as far as I know, they can trash each other till the cows come home.
Then, of course, Carole is a journalist - like Dirk needs *her* trashing him in the press when she gets out...and she was so nice to him before...hate people that change their colors like that...

Jo seems not to have learned much about "getting along". She's starting in on Dirk now. After he's been cheering everyone up all day, Jo states that he's in a "foul mood", is "selfish because he wouldn't share his soy sauce", and asking why BB got him more cigars.
Well, hopefully after Jade gets kicked out, Jo's brain will shift out of neutral...

Jos been the biggest shock for me, we all knew Jade was a pain anyway and could guess what Danielle was like BUT from her days with S-Club Jo had a lot of fans because she seemed so down to earth and unaffected, this was a real chance for her to leave a lasting impression on viewers now that she doesnt know what to do with her career...and to build on her fanbase, BUT instead she has show us we were all wrong about her, shes a nasty piece of work and not the decent human being we perviously thought. She has a nerve going on about Dirks attitude, all shes done in the house is slouch around chain smoking, bitching, complaining and being miserable, I dont like her one bit....wave goodbye to any idea of a career Jo!

May know why Jo thought Dirk was being a grouch - just told Shilpa (Dirk did) that he and his kids have been away from each other too long (he's homesick)... :(

I'm just watching the live feed and Jo, Cleo and Danielle are talking about Dirk
Jo: he was in a foul mood all day and was selfish about his lighter"
anyway they are speaking about winding him up, putting a pair of Shilpa's knickers in his bed, then Jo suggested cracking an egg into his coat pokect.
What a nasty piece of work she is.
Danielle making fun of his bald patch as well.
I'm so annoyed Dirk has done nothing wrong at all in my opinion

They haven't learned a thing, except that Shilpa is "off limits", so they have to find someone else. And they know Dirk is too much of a gentleman to put them in their place. Although, I think he's come close ;-)
Actually, I don't think I'd like to be around if he ever did lose his temper...

Dirk can still remain private and still be outgoing at the same time.
Everyone has their private persona and their public persona.
Wouldn't you agree?
As for Shilpa, Dirk is just flirting with her, all the celebs are in the house for entertainment purposes.
I highly doubt if anyone in there is having serious relationships with each other.
Especially in that type of environment.
Dirk is also very homesick for his kids and home in Montana.
I don't think he'll be doing this again anytime soon.
I think it's too much for him.

You know, I hate to say this, but happy as I am with Dirk being in the top three, I found myself thinking, damn, it was women that did him in again! If it hadn't been for the Jadettes causing such a furor to start with, and then Cleo's childish antics, the world would've seen more of "our" Dirk, and not been given all those negative impressions. He would've come in on top for sure then. And I understand Cleo, still unable to let go, actually told George how nice he (George) was, and that he must take after his mother. Taking a dig at Dirk through his son - how low can one go? :x
Somewhere it said he was flying home Tuesday, so in advance: Welcome back! :D

You know I used to like Cleo. Back in the 70's she was on a vary popular sketch show in the U.K. It was a non speaking role!
Now I don't think that I could find her less attractive. She manages to keep her face emotionless so all that hatred doesn't show.

I was just watching the clip about "Selective hearing" where the witchs stitch Dirk up by purposely mishearing him:
Cleo: "How are you today Dirk?"
Dirk "I'm good, good......it's bloody cold...."
(When Dirk leaves the room)
Cleo: "He said "I'm f***ing cold " "
And then Jo goes on to moan about him being rude ffs !
Those girls were horrible to Dirk. I noticed that conversation where they asked Dirk how he was, and then 'mishead' his response. I think they were actually disappointed that he wasn't rude to them, because that would have given them licence to bitch - so instead they just invented a scenario where he was rude.
When I think about Jo calling someone rude, the words pot and kettle come to mind...

Hello everyone!
I think that Dirk conducted himself very well. :D
The girls were horrible to Dirk. It's good he wasn't responsive to that.
Shilpa talked about him behind his back...that is so NOT nice!
And what Cleo said...uncalled for!:
I certainly would never do anything like that.
I treat people with courtesy and respect and expect the same in return.
Shouldn't we all be treated that way?
DIRK YOU ARE ONE OF THE NICEST, MOST SINCEREST, DOWN TO EARTH MENI THAT I'VE EVER SEEN!
WE NEED MORE MEN LIKE YOU! ::D :D :D
take care,

id like to read Carole Malones response to Billy's email to her if possible.
The Big Brothers Big Mouth just after the final saw Carole and Cleo pretty much do a tag team on Dirk, with even Donny making remarks about his age. This is the same Donny who was clearly starstruck by Dirk on the first night.
Cleos remarks were really spiteful remarking that she had no idea where Dirk's son got his good qualities from. that she would rathe boil her head in rhino phlegm than be with Dirk... and Carole called him on the remarks over Cleos "fat ass" and "middle aged cleavage".... but its ok for the girls to mock Dirks small bald patch
Carole is a spiteful bitter old sexist, she said in her column that Dirk had no time for any women with a brain over 25! WTF? Shilpa?
And he was great in defending Jade AND Danielle against the press.. he said Jade gave them something to talk about and that the furore was "ridiculous"
Sorry for the rant its just the attitude shown towards this man angered me sooo much,

Well, my mother always said, "Consider the source.", so...
I think it's obvious to everyone (except perhaps other bitter, older, single women) what's behind these kinds of attacks. I imagine there's more than one person laughing at these two crones...or just ignoring them completely.
I did laugh, though, because when whats-his-name asked Dirk to respond to the "middle-aged cleavage" remark, he just laughed and said he and Leo were still in the rhino sperm/phlegm (I thought he said sperm) to hear what was said. So obviously he didn't care what they said.

Groovy, I agree with you entirely but I think the whole thing is very sad. Who Mr Benedict does or does not fancy is none of theirs or anyones business! (I read somewhere that they sang a song to Cleo.. Dirk and Cleo sitting in a tree K i s s i n g... I think this sums up their mentality perfectly ). I hope that the poor chap decides to come back in the future to the UK to work, after everything he has been subjected to.

Great post :D
I was shocked by Cleo's remarks on BBBM - using Dirk's son to have a dig at him was low. And I agree with your point about how they didn't like him saying anything bad about them, but it was fine for them to slag him off as much as they like. I hope Dirk realises that those women are not representative of female Brits.
Carole's comment about Dirk not liking women with brains showed how ill thought out her comments were, considering that he fancied probably the most intelligent female in the house.
To be honest, with their behaviour on BBBM they just showed themselves up. Dirk on the other hand showed restraint and dignity in not responding. Cleo did herself no favours whatsoever, and to me, she seems slightly unbalanced, bitchy, spiteful and very bitter. I think she definitely fancied Dirk and was narked that it was not reciprocated.
Another thing that I thought about Cleo was that when she went into her whole 'Tiara' act and was all over Dirk, she was upset when he didn't like it, and somehow made out like it was his fault and he should learn to take a joke. But if that situation had been reversed, Cleo and her cronies would have been accusing him of sexual harassment.

I actually emailed Carole, and put her straight on a few things, as I read her article on Sunday before the final and then her comments on BBBM  AND being a "stay at home" mum, (with second shortly on the way) I don't appreciate it that means I must be "thick" because I've chosen to bring up my own children :x (sorry rant over)
Also, Dirk is so intelligent, he would need someone with intelligence to talk to. He's such a talkative kind of guy, a chatter box :D So Carole was talking absolute crap! She turned on him, as soon as he admitted he wasn't keen on Cleo. She said he had no sense of humour! I had to put her straight!!!

Billy, re: being a "stay-at-home" I spotted a book in the bargain bin at our nearest bookstore that claimed that being a full-time mom increases your intelligence and ability to multitask.
Carole (and any tabloid/sensationalist media like her) always strike me as too thick to understand their own insignificance.

Jewels,
I decided that I would only get frustrated with the incompetence of apparently so-called intelligent people! So I know days can be hard with my toddler sometimes, but I would rather have a bad day with him, than deal with the daily frustration I had stuck in an office.
I'm either lucky or unlucky, that I never really found a career / job I was truly happy in, but I've always said that I want to bring my kids up.
Multi-task! 8) Us Mum's are born to do it :D

I telephoned twice to complain about the bullying of Shilpa and three times to the BB telephone numbers to complain about the bullying of Dirk. I think that because Cleo was ga ga over Dirk and didn't get the response she wanted, she tried -it seems, aided by her cronies, to get him to retaliate very badly, which would have perhaps resulted in his being voted out by the public. To his credit, he didn't lose self control. It was so sad, to see him sitting in the garden, obviously emotional. He hadn't said or done anything remotely offensive to anyone . His only 'crime' was at 61, to be intelligent, witty, interesting, very fit and remarkably sexy! Cleo incidentally in the first week was inviting herself to Montana! Eeek!
