:D Just to let you all know (if you didn't already) that Dirk has just entered the Big Brother house tonight- and boy what an entrance! For those that didn't see it he pulled up in the A-team van (complete with theme music) and he got an absolutely fantastic reception from the crowd! He's my hot tip to win - it would be amazing if he did :D

I know Tracy - I was very :o he is in! Is he mad?! :D Did you manage to see his Pre-rec interview before he went in? He said that he doesn't like groups of people, and hates everything about the show and he doesn't really know why he's doing it! :) I love his bare faced honesty.

He was last of the celebs in (saved the best til last obviously  ) and got the best reaction by far.
Bar Jeramaine Jackson he is the most famous in the house really so go Dirk! :D I really hope he does well and manages to enjoy the experience somehow. Am thinking it might be tough for him though because of his diet and the lack of supplies necessant to this. He had a small black bag with him and he said that most of what he had brought with him was his beloved cigars (he walked through the door with one naturally).

Will be watching avidly :D

I was watching tonight, just in case he did go in! AND HE DID!

Sort of say Damn! coz it means I've just GOT to watch it now! Shame there are no other real "Celebs" in there!

I just hope that he doesn't let himself down in there, and shows us the Dirk we've all come to love.

But what an entrance! I think he has a very good chance of winning if he just shows his excellent sense of humour :D

You guys in the states can probably watch it via the web! Someone cleverer than me can provide the link otherwise I'll hunt it out!

I am in utter shock and disarray--and my vocabulary just isn't equipped with words to express what I think--so I'll just ponder on it for a while and we'll see how this turns out. My greatest concern is Dirk--I have him on a pretty high pedestal--I just hope someone doesn't knock him down. :?

Wow!!!!
....... is there anyone here that is not in shock over this one

....and I have to admit I am one of the ones that hopes he not only makes it but that he comes out looking good thru it

....those shows tend to bring out the worse in people and if that does not happen editing brings out the worse

....let us pray!!!!!!.......I think I even heard Dirk say "pray for me" on his way in

....anyone with the ability to make tapes for those of us here in the US.......well......maybe we might want to see it.....yes I think we would

.....let us know how it goes and we will let you know if we want tapes

I think he'll charm them, at least the ladies; then wow them with cooking. :D

The pantry better hold a lot of brown rice and veggies.

Are any other of the housemates as interesting to get to know?

I just posted this on the list (I was so taken a back that I temporarily forgot about the forum until half way through my list reply) and I don't feel like typing it again soooo....I copied it. Sorry gang:

Ok....this is what I know:

1) I put NO ONE on a pedestal. I respect people. I admire people. I even adore people - but I don't worship them.

2) I STILL respect and admire Dirk.

3) His decision to do this is HIS right and his business and I'm sure no one cares about my opinion.

4) This will probably offend many people - though I mean none so I apologize in advance for offending anyone's view(s), feeling, opinions, viewing *choices* (or whatever) but I do NOT apologize for what I am about to say....

Dirk - I still love, respect and admire you but - WHAT THE *HELL* ARE YOU DOING!!!!

You are SO much better than this! (Of course, so is everyone else....but what the other "celebrities" decide to do about this "show" - I don't care). Ok....so your sons talked you into this but come on! In your OWN words:

“Well, this is my coming out party - and probably my 'going back in hiding again' party! I expect 25 days of absolute hell, I can't find one thing that I'll like about it. I don't like celebrities, I don't hang out with actors, I hate being in front of the camera.”

So, you can't find ONE thing you'll like about this. You don't like celebrities. You don't hang out with actors. You hate being in front of the camera. Well, that sounds like a GREAT logical reason to do this.

With all due respect (and here's where I piss off more people [and I do love my list and forum "family"]) why "blame" your sons for your decision to do this? If you REALLY don't want to do something - you wouldn't do it *unless* there was actually something about it that you really DO like about it.

Sorry - but that's just how I feel. Maybe I'll "calm" down later. Right now - this is MY reality - TRUE reality. Not the "reality" that's really not.

Julie

P.S. Yes, I do realize Dirk will never read this (though, I don't mind if he does) but I just worded it the way it came.

I'm working one my daughter's computer. (mine has temporarily turned evil and won't let me on any web site). For some reason now this site has listed me as a "guest". It didn't do that the other day when I worked from this same computer. I've got to be doing something wrong but until I figure it out - just thought I'd put that out there.:-)

Sorry Julie!

When I put up the sub forum today I forgot to change it to "registered members" so you're showing up as guest cuz you didn't have to login to post.

Don't worry, nothing bad is happening. ;)

I liked your post actually. I did notice when I saw Dirk's pre-interview before he came out of the van and down the carpet to the house that he said he hates "groups, cameras, confrontation.............so why am I doing this?" I think he was being totally sarcastic.

I'm shocked he's doing it. It's the total polar opposite of what I expected him to do.
But, I guess we'll just have to see where this goes.

Tracy

01-03-2007, 11:52 PM
I'm hoping he's doing this partly as a lark, and maybe because there's a gamesmanship to play with the interpersonal dynamics. The boys talking him into it--If we ever meet the boys, we might have to put the "WHY?" question to them, as in "Why torment your Dad?"

I think he may actually do well, just because he strikes me as being good with people regardless of his self-proclaimed recluse status.

Side note: if Jermaine Jackson has become Muslim, and if the Bollywood actress is Hindu, then DB won't be the only one with diet restrictions. I hope that they were at least allowed the kindness of a well-customized-to the-dwellers pantry.

I hate this program

BUT his entrance was GREAT !!!

And he has so much class

So if someone can give this program some class it's him !

And it might give a little extra publicity for the fact that Dirk has restarted acting. Hope we'll see more Dirk Benedict in the future !!!!!

Yes, I was already wondering about that when I first heard he's actually in the house. Will he go on cooking macrobiotic food? Don't they have to fight for food... I mean, win in some kind of games. I doubt he can continue his macrobiotic diet under these conditions.

I have to confess, I don't like the Big Brother. I used to like the very first show in Germany (I think it was 7 years ago), because it was something totally "New" on TV. But as soon as the second show began, I didn't watch it anymore, because you could see the people just moved into the house to become "famous" no matter how. Those people in CBB are famous already though *G* Big Brother became quite kitschy in my opinion. Then they invented a new BB called "Big Brother the battle". Then one in which the candidates are separated into three groups. The upper class, the middle class and the poor ones. The last BB show was supposed to last as long as possible - not just one year. They called BB - The Village and if somebody wanted to stay for 5 years or longer... okay. But they saw the show didn't run very well and so they dropped it - fortunately dropped it. *G* You can see, I'm not very much a fan of that kind of reality shows

I saw in one article/blog/video (there's so much out there now it's hard to keep track!) that one female guest was excited because they had delivered brown rice, so that's a good sign, right? And Dirk said in the vid, "No cigar, no Benedict", so I'm assuming he would have been just as adamant about the dietary needs...

They could make a deal... he quits smoking those cigars for the couple of days he spends in the house and therefore he gets his brown rice. I don't think the other candidates were very content with the fact Dirk is a "cigar" smoker, weren't they?

I remember a cigar-smoker in our neighbourhood and it smelled like hell. When he passed our house it was smelling for a very long time.

They seem to have a problem pronouncing Dirk's name? WTF... is that really so hard? There are millions of Dirks living in Germany. Are there really just a few in the US / UK ?

Well, they showed that young punk guy smoking a cigarette...

I'm just wondering about the format of this show - I was thinking they showed an hour a week (like Survivor, the only reality show I typically watch), but from comments here and about, it sounds like it runs 24/7 - is that right? Or they show a summation daily? Very confusing. And of course, that brings up editing, which in these type programs typically shows people at their absolute worst (and out of context)

There's quite a few ways to see it. There's the main Big Brother on Channel 4 for an hour each night. Then there's Live coverage on E4 late evening and early hours. There's also live streaming that you can subscribe to on the Channel 4 website. There are also two discussion programs called 'Big Brothers Little Brother' and Big Brothers Big Mouth'. I believe there's also a third one which will psycho-analyse the contestants called 'Big Brothers Big Brain'. There's also email news letters and SMS alerts too

I don't normally bother with Big Brother, but this time I HAVE to watch it - a daily DIrk dose is not too be missed :)

I'm new here by the way - I've been lurking for a bit but thought I would come out and say Hi

OK I just have to say, that I had E4 on this morning, to get a "Dirk, I just got out of bed look". And he looks fab :D :sigh:

He's brilliant, unfortunately there are some muppets in there with him but he's showing his charming self off really well :D

I just can't believe I've got him in my living room, every day! (Hopefully for the next three weeks, but I think the public will keep him in!) I can "stalk" him legally and he doesn't even have to know about it

Please let me rephrase my last posting about putting Dirk on a Pedestal, or maybe I should just clarify---I worship no one, no human anyway--just God. I simply meant that I think he is a man who has some self worth and conveys that to his fans in a very positive manner. I admire the man as I would admire anyone who makes a difference in their own lives, as well as others---so, yeah I was shocked at his decision to do CBB--so please forgive me if I misled or gave anyone the wrong impression. And, in closing I am 100% behind him--with plenty of prayers

I had a bout of insomnia last night so I sat up to about 3am watching the live footage. Jo (the young blond singer) had a stomach ache. Dirk was straight into 'Dad' mode making up a hot compress for her as there wasn't any hot water bottles.

The live footage is interesting but very frustrating. Every time the conversation got interesting - talking about his home and his sons and all sorts of things, the camera would either cut to the other house or a picture of the sofa or go to bloody commercials. Every five minutes the sound is cut in case the talk is libelous or reveals personal details [of people not in the house] or inadvertantly advertises a product...

If it wasn't for Dirk it would be like watching paint dry. :?

Isn't Dirk kinda protective of his kids' privacy, vis a vis the press? At least that's the impression I've gotten. So maybe they're doing it deliberately...??

Becky A
01-06-2007, 09:51 AM
I know exactly what you mean Vikki. Unfortunately I have been off work ill these past few days and I have been 'stumbling' accross the live footage on E4 here and there, and each time the conversation gets interesting (i.e. when only Dirk is there of course) they cut the sound out - it's torture :x

I was pleased that he decided to go next door with the others though - although they are probably a bit noisy for him I think he'll be better off with them rather than having to endure Jade Goody on a daily basis (can you imagine?! )

Vikki -that lovely cream.white fleece top he was wearing yesterday he is also wearing in his promo profile BB shot if you look (useless bit of info there for you! :) ) but yes he always manages to look fine if you ask me
Did you see him enjoying that carrot?! Thank good for fruit and veg eh?!

I don't think he's given too much away, he talks about his kids etc as in, "I have 2 boys, 16 and 18." He hasn't let anything really personal been divulged. Not what I've seen. He's playing the game very well

He was talking about George yesterday and it was fasinating apart from the odd bit of silence E4 had to do! Gggrrrr!

I haven't seen any today, as I've been at work. Glad to hear Donny has walked out though!

Dirk is one of the favourites to win BTW, but it is early stages, as long as he doesn't lose the plot (like Leo already has by the sounds of things) he's gonna do just fine :D

Dirks been having fun today. Enjoying the servant task and his new role as 'House keeper'. Shame he didn't get to be the Butler.

Last night Dirk was talking to Leo about his boys being good dancers and having a wide range of music on their Ipods from Beethoven to the latest hip-hop.

Dirk was a sweetie this morning, talking to Danielle about Teddy! He's getting on well with the young ladies  And then later, he was telling Shilpa what a lovely laugh she had  He's soooo smooth! :D

Personally, I think he's playing the game really well, like a true sportsman too. He's getting on with everyone, and not slagging anyone off too much. He's doing just fine :D

Last night he was talking to Leo and the others about how BB couldn't take the celebrity away from him, as he didn't believe he was one. He's just so modest :D and seems so normal...I LOVE having him in my lounge at the moment. If he wasn't in the show, I would not be watching it!! Especially now Jade and her horrid mother has gone in. Jackiey is just awful!

Am I being biased? But Dirk doesn’t seem to be getting as much air time as the other house mates!!!!!

It’s probably a good job as I’d have to take a couple of weeks off work to watch all of it!!! It’s seems to be on all day in one carnation or another!!!! Friday night was like a night in with Dirk!!!

I was pretty traumatised when he went in at first but find it all really exciting now!!!!

Leo and Jackiey seem to be loosing the plot!!! Dirk is getting on with Jermaine so I might vote to keep Jermaine in - at least he'll have a buddy to chat with!

I'm a bit miffed with Carol acting like she's Dirk's authority on his books. It's not like she's read them. Maybe I just don't like the journalist side of her and don't want her dirty Dirk with stories about him in her column. Fingers crossed that she is genuine :D

Thanks for the update!
As for Shilpa, again, whatever. I am not that fond of her  ,but if she makes Dirk happy. Good for him.

You are only as old as you feel. And I personally would rather spend ONE day with someone I adore, then a lifetime with someone that I don't.

They have another task to do.

http://www.channel4.com/bigbrother/news/newsstory.jsp?id=1199&articleMask=1&housemateId=

The viewers have to vote by Email for whom they want to win the task. The two bands are a Steps Tribute band. Ian was in that pop band in the UK and a Jackson Five Tribute band. Dirk is in Jermaine's band. Just emailed my vote.

The bands are Steps, Ian, Jade, Jack and Jo
Jackson Five, Jermaine, Dirk, Cleo, Shilpa and Danielle

Someone said Carole's first column is supposed to come out today (Sunday) - anyone see it, could they give us an idea of what she says? Curious to get her first take on things...

Crazy Tommy T
01-14-2007, 07:29 AM
From Carole Malone's column today:

Now for Dirk "Eggs" Benedict. He's had 14 years in Montana bringing up his two sons and now wants a wife. She doesn't have to be young (phew) and she can't be too smart because Dirk believes his woman should be at home looking after the house and kids (yes, we had arguments about that, but his mind won't be changed). But I've never met a man who unashamedly adores his kids.

He gave up his career to take care of them when his wife walked out. And while he might be 62 he looks 52. He's in great shape (trust me, I've seen the body). He's fun, he tells me he's loyal like a dog and would never cheat on a woman - and I believe him. This is a man who got prostate cancer at 30 and beat it with a macrobiotic diet. So the downside is he only eats rice and vegetables but hey, he still looks like a movie star.

Yes, he's got a crush on Shilpa but nothing's going to happen. She likes him, but says he's nearly as old as her dad and, anyway, wants to marry someone from her own country. But he's a good, decent, solid man who still has all his own hair. So start the queue girls for when he gets out.

And later a summary, each housemate got one:
DIRK
HE'S fiercely intelligent and very funny. Wants a wife.. but one who will stay at home to look after him. Which makes him a bit of a chauvinist pig... but who wouldn't want to stay at home for Dirk?

Article here:

ostarella

Well, 95% of it I liked - I think she has it wrong about him looking for a wife (don't think he's *actively* doing that - unless he said so and I missed it) and about the woman not being "too smart" - she's a bit chauvinistic there, herself, as if a woman with intelligence wouldn't want to stay at home! And I don't think Dirk wants a dummy for a wife/partner. But overall, I'm happy with her treatment of Dirk here - could've been much worse.

I've been catching up on the CBB forums and various other sites, and of course forging through the eviction bruhaha, and, you know what? I'm *tired*. Not physically, but, man...While most posts are supportive and respectful of Dirk, there are still those that say, oh he should've done this, he shouldn't have done that, why did he, why didn't he...geez. He didn't go on this bizarre journey to be the Hero, the Daddy, the Negotiator or the Priest. He went there because his boys wanted him to, for whatever reasons they had. He's in among a gaggle of weirdos, with a sprinkling of human beings, when he'd much rather be back in the mountains with his family. At this point, I wouldn't care if he did nothing more than stay in bed all day. Whatever he needs to do to make it out of the damn place more or less intact, he should do it. More power to him!

I'm a new Dirk fan after tuning in (thanks youtube!) to CBB5 after hearing about Shilpa Shetty's problems (I'm a big Bollywood fan) on the show. I am new to all this on-line chat stuff so.. apologies don't really know what I'm doing. I don't usually watch any reality TV but presently I am recovering from an operation and have been laid up watching a lot of TV. Have been drawn into the Big Brother stuff. I am currently ashamed to be British, the representatives are an embarrassment to the nation. The 3 people who have dignity and self respect are Dirk, Jermaine and the lovely Shilpa...none of them British ! DIrk amuses me so much, he has the best sense of humour but unfortunately for him there is no-one to appreciate it in there. The British lot have collective brain matter that can't be any bigger than a pea and amusingly they think it's him that does'nt have a sense of humour. I feel so sorry for Dirk and Jermaine, there is nothing to stimulate them in there and I hope they don't think we are all as stupid as the crowd he has had to suffer for the past 3 weeks. I'm sure the snake-like Cleo secretly fancies Dirk but he's having none of it, he is far too good for her, thankfully he can see right throught her. I'd love to see Dirk win the show, if not please let it be Jermaine or Shilpa, the thought of one of the others winning is too much to bear, I have already given up reading most newspapers and magazines because of the rubbish in them, I still watch TV because thankfully I can still afford Sky and can always find something worthwhile to watch. But if any ot the British lot win BB I willl have to give up TV in protest. Come on Dirk..you have to win it for all of us..plus we get to see your face in the papers instead of some idiot. Chin up..not long to go

It's a shame that the coven of witches feel they have to goad/provoke him with thei asinine behaviour so relentlessly, probably due to his age and being foreign. He did a great job in the house.

I really hate Big Brother, but it was sometimes interesting to see some of the parts. He brought a bit of class to this program.

I don't think the program was a real surprise for those who have read his books. It only confirms what is written in these books. It's a down to earth guy, with lots of interesting ideas about life.

But like he said: it's just a game.

Hope we'll be able to see him acting in some great movies, and maybe write an other great book.

Hope to hear him soon in one of the episodes of howlingmadradio !!!!! Saw him with dwight at the screenheroes convention in holland. bring these guys together and you have that good old non-stop madness from the a-team again.

Hi ladies

I have been away for a while and look at what I have missed.

We had all the news down here about the racist incident and the mouthy revolting (utterly classless) girl getting kicked off and yet I didnt have a clue Dirk was even in the show until I finally reset all my links up tonight on my new computer and found this forum again !

So - I honestly dont know what to think about Dirk actually going on CBB. I am a huge Aus BB fan and have been for 6 years - but our only season of Celeb BB when down like a lead balloon and they never tried it again.

Its strange to watch some one who you have only ever seen acting as a character - actually being himself. Pottering about the kitchen (and I note - cleaning up after himself!) and muttering to himself etc.

Anyway - I found a couple more you tube links including him in the diary room beings rather deep and meaning full (and Shilpa talking about him behind his back - she sounds like she has read his book from cover to cover) and the Jackson 5 dance moves ! Not bad for a lad of his age !

Amazingly, I am now relaxed, happy, and frankly don't care who comes in first on Sunday - because the only four that have a chance of it are the good guys. And I know Dirk no longer has to keep his guard up, or pretend to be something he's not just to get voted out, because it's all friends or insignificants left.

Glory hallelujah...and I mean that seriously...

I agree, Osterella. Hopefully we shall see more of Dirks "Dad Dancing!" 8) I really hope he can enjoy himself now, and that we can see it.
It's been great reading everyone's view on this forum, as you are all saying exactly what I'm thinking! :o Great minds think alike, huh!! :D

The man's completely come out his shell - he's telling the young ones all about mountain lions and and bob cats - you just can't shut him up - go Dirk!

Note how Danielle couldn't figure out how he knew so much about animals/hunting when he didn't even eat meat. Proves the point that people are often confusing contradictions, the paradpx he refers to in his first book.

Well we have him for 2 more days, but I fear he may disappear for a long while after this to get some solitude back.

I hope Dirk does not get too reclusive after CBB. Wouldn't it be great to see him do some TV drama like Spooks or 24? Someone have a word with his agent. I'll be voting several times for Dirk to win now, but even if he doesn't at least he has seen off the conspiring "witches". He should enjoy the weekend now they are out of the house.

I got the feeling he thought people "outside" had the same sort of feeling toward him as inside the house. Not surprising, considering the cloistered settings; BB really does seem to enjoy playing mind games. I think that's been dispelled now, though, with last night's vote. But I'm sure he's going to want to stay away from crowds for some time to get his equilibrium back.

I don't think he'll be "allowed" to be a total recluse though - not if his sons have anything to say about it

Yes, it would be good to see him on our screens again in any capacity. We'l have to wait and see.

Of course we're all glad he didn't rspond to the constant goading from the envious/poisonous witches. He conducted himself with dignity as ever.

I have to say I wouldn't like to Dirk in 24 because I hate the show and never watch it. I think it panders to the histeria caused by the Bush administration.

I'd really like to see Dirk in a show of his own, stickin it to he man, as he did in BG and the A-Team.

Richard
01-28-2007, 05:30 AM
Fair point about 24 but it would be good to see Dirk play some cool, dark or mysterious character. However, have you seen the man dance? he loves it. I wonder if they will ask him to do one of those celebrity dancing shows. Bit beneath Dirk's talents but I reckon he would do well. Get Voting for him to win Dirk fans!

JohnP
01-28-2007, 07:08 AM
Yep, I wish I could dance like that.

Dark and mysterious you say. Lets hope someone from the BBC or Channel four is reading this. They put seasoned actors in some really great roles, like Judge John Deed.

I think your on to something here.

Oh and I must go and vote a couple more times. Thanks for reminding me. :)

Richard

C'mon the rest of you Dirk fans - text or phone to vote for "our man".

I've been "watching" via the live update forums, and looking at screen grabs, etc, and it got me to thinking (surprise!)

First, I'm really wishing that the first few days and the last couple of days could have been the story of CBB5. Everyone was/is having so much enjoyment with each other; that's entertainment. And Dirk - well, obviously it would have been so much better for him. Those days before Cleo and Jo left, he was looking so old and worn down - but those occasions when he did find something to enjoy, he looked like himself again. Now he's looking so much better!

Second, I feel badly for Danielle and Jack - I don't feel sorry for them, but I feel badly because if they had had the right kind of upbringing, they could've been such nice kids. Maybe Danielle is putting on an act now, but Jack at least seems so much nicer now, having been away from Jade and that other lot. It just seems like such a waste. I'm really hoping he gets back to Jade and her foulness and he'll compare that to what he was surrounded with the last few days, and he'll decide to get out before she drags him further down into the gutter. But then I've got a son about his age, so maybe I'm just being a softie

Dirk will always be a winner to us. He displayed greater patience and fortitude in that place than any man I know, and I mean that. Even people on the forums who hadn't known that much about him before stated that he did his fans and country proud. :D

We knew that

And a special thanks to Crazy Tommy T for the videos!

I realise that I only found this site as aresult of the BB show but hope that I can still share thoughts and find out more about what Dirk is up to through the site. I am really going to miss seeing him every day but oh my - what a classy man and he made a classy exit from the House to rapturous applause - he must be back on our screens soon.

In the meantime any support to get me through the Dirkless days to come will be most appreciated !!

Hello everyone!

Don't forget there are other forums here at this site ! (DirkBenedictCentral) :)

(i.e. MAIN DISCUSSION AREA, THE BOOKS, MOVIE & TV work reviews, etc.)

So, you won't be missing your daily dose of Dirk after all! :)

It was a sincere pleasure getting to know all of you, a little bit, through the posts!

Special thanks to Crazy Tommy T for the videos!

take care everyone!
Anne :D

p.s. Also check out www.dbanonymous.org LOTS of Dirk photos and sound files, etc.
For more of your daily dose of Dirk! :D

And a VERY SPECIAL THANKS to the staff at Dirk Benedict Central! :D

Yes, just want to echo the thanks to the DBC team - I know they are going to make sure Dirk knows how supportive we've all been throughout CBB. And lovely to share the highs , the lows , the pain and the ecstasy with you all. Hopefully see you when he comes to Scotland ( How many times do you think I need to make that plea before Dirk gets the message??)

I read that Dirk's "confessions" book is selling extremely well in bookshops. It has shot up to No.3 on a bestsellers list. CBB has turned out to be very interesting in that this medium of entertainment can become quite educational. I had never heard of a macrobiotic diet and it's benefits before. Also, viewers have seen good and bad behaviour and can debate and gain a useful learning experience about how one's words and actions can have an effect on people's feelings. Will miss seeing Dirk but I have ordered both his books so I have that to look forward to.

I'm going to try to get back to some semblance of normality now - going to the gym, socialising with family and friends etc etc,. but it is lovely to know that we can all come back to the site. Thanks to everyone across the pond for making the Brits feel so welcome. More than anything I think we just wanted to make sure Dirk knew that the UK women in the CBB house in no way represented the vast majority of us. Would love if there was a UK convention that we could all meet up at.

Hello everyone!
I forgot to mention that my Aunt Elisabeth is Scottish.
I was born in Canada, but both my parents were from Germany.
I have dual citizenshp, German and Canadian. I have lots of relatives from Germany, but a couple are from Scotland.
So that means I'm actually German-Scottish-Canadian!
The Brits are a lovely people and the Scots!
Maybe the staff here at DirkBenedictCentral can organize a major Dirk Benedict Fan convention for all the fans from all over the world!
Now, wouldn't that be something!

warmest regards,
Anne :)

Well, it would be a chance to get Dirk, Dwight, Richard Hatch, etc, along with their fans and the people that write about them. Be interesting to discuss stories and characterizations with the guys that played the different characters...might be fun, at that. But what a mammoth project

Any takers?

In an interview on some TV show yesterday (my time zones are all screwed up now, I think it was yesterday  ), Dirk mentioned that he practiced zen buddhism...? I've never heard him mention a particular religion before, but just a quick glance at the principles and it definitely meshes with things he's said about his philosophy of life. But then again I'm not sure if he was serious or not...

Out of respect for him after living on camera 24/7 for 26 days, I am not even going to ask him.

I would imagine that perhaps his BB experience may be saved for a chapter or two in a future book.
