Is NBC looking for its own Lost?

Let the copycatting begin!
Actually, I'm surprised that, two years into the Lost phenomenon, there isn't a "mysterious deserted island" show on all four networks, the CW, MyNetwork, the FoodTV, and the Hot Network. It was quite a blissful time for TV viewers. But that blisfulness is about to be shattered; as NBC is developing a show called Isla Du Sol, about a Brazilian woman who travels to a mysterious island to satisfy her aunt's dying wish. There she finds things out about her past that she had never known before.
I'm sure there will be flashbacks, hidden and not-so-hidden clues, and lots and lots of thick vegetation. But I'm sure it'll be quality; it's created by Tom Wheeler, who is writing an updated version of The A-Team for the CW. Oh, never mind.

write an update version of the a-team ? i tought we already had charlie's angels
the problem with the re-imagination is the fact they use the name of a show because they consider it "a brand that has proven itself", re-use it, but remove all the reasons why we loved the show ("the brand") in the first place.
Maybe they can change Hannibal ("i love it when we reach our 'targets' ") and Face (driving in a Volkswagen Beetle, shopping whole the time) into female characters, change Murdock into a gay male character ("the gay-team"?; maybe change Murdocks imaginary dogg into a living chiuaua (very popular nowdays) as well), and give the part of BA Baracus to a Cuban immigrant ("i don't hate castro, i pitty the fool"; "get in the car, darlings"). Sounds pretty political correct to me.

Oh, you are SOOOOOO right!
I don't really have anything to add, just thought this bears repeating. :D
I especially liked "the problem with the re-imagination is the fact they use the name of a show because they consider it "a brand that has proven itself", re-use it, but remove all the reasons why we loved the show ("the brand") in the first place." Yup, yup and yup! They won't get it though. There are too many people out there who don't remember the real thing who would probably eat it up. There may be enough people to keep the show alive on a network like CW, but I doubt it.

I simply don't understand the strategy of using the name of an old movie, tv show, etc. if you change the whole idea behind it.
except the fact they probably hope people will think: "hey, that was a nice show in the '70s or 80's. it has the same name, so this might be great as well."
it's like dirk says: they give you a new hamburger and say: "eat it. it's great, and better than the other one. please forget the other one."
If you're a fan of the old tv show,... and say: "hey, this whole new thing has nothing to do with the old show", you're an old man who can't understand that times has changed. who can't see they could or did not want to use the old concept. etc.
but hey? it was their idea to use the name of the old show.
i understand times have changed. i'm not an idiot. but they call it "battlestar galactica", and give you something different. if I want to watch Star Wars, I don't want to see Star Trek. ok, it both happens in space, and there are space ships in it, but that's it.
we'll have the same problem with the re-imagination of the a-team. there will be four characters, driving a van and shooting around. but is this the a-team ????
and they can never bring back the a-team, because Dirk, Dwight, George and Mr. T took the show away from the producers. They simply changed the whole thing if they didn't like what the producers ordered them to do. they gave the characters "more body".
an a-team movie with new actors ? I think they underestimate the importance of the original actors in the creation of the "a-team". Cannel is brilliant, but there was a special chemistry between the actors. He can't bring back the a-team on his own.
