I decided to look you up after watching another dreadfully depressing episode of the new series. But I'm going to be honest. Better an angrogenous feminazi that's got nothing in common with the original Starbuck than some poor bastard that could never, ever portray that wonderous character the way you did. Starbuck's your creation.

Sincerely,

Corey Hayes

Very good point you got there.

Still, I think I could have watched this show if it had been called something else with different character names.

Cool thing I heard today - I went to EPCOT and was in "The Land" waiting on line for the attraction called "Soarin' ". There is kind of generic inspiring/adventure type music playing all the time you're in there. One of the tunes they played I recognized as the theme to Battlestar Galactica. I almost shouted out, but didn't. :D Pretty awesome!

I think the new show would be all right if they had changed basically everything: title, names, story line, etc.
I completely agree with Dirk in his article. I am so sick of seeing "super" women that are able to do everything and that act like men in dresses. Give me the mother in "Leave it to Beaver" anyday.

Looks like Dirk isn't the only writer who has articles that periodically explode into discussion/debate.

I found this article titled Homeward Bound (http://www.prospect.org/web/page.ww?section=root&name=ViewWeb&articleId=10659) written by one of "those people" and thought of Dirk. :)

An enjoyable article written about the above is titled Meet the New Boss: Feminism and the Home (http://www.catholicexchange.com/vm/index.asp?vm_id=43&art_id=33554).

Sad, what happened to feminism - some of them just don't get it.

Thanks for the articles, MrsSpooky. Very interesting.
There is one thing I simply do not understand about the feminists, at least this one in particular (there are really alot more). If they are out the door working, making this fantastic living for themselves, then why are they the very first ones in the case of divorce to yell "I am woman and man owes me half of income and pension"? :?
I feel that if a woman wishes to be treated like a woman, then act like one. Otherwise, do not complain when you are treated as a man's equal in every sense of the word, if you catch my drift.
Well, this is just my opinion, nothing more. And truly doesn't even add up to much in the long run. Just thought I'd rant a little.
Take care.

And don't forget those divorce cases where the woman has to pay alimony to the man. I'm certain THAT wasn't on the minds of some of these feminists. But hey, what's good for the goose is good for the gander, right?

I'm kind of glad I never married. I've seen too much vindictiveness in divorce cases - on both sides. I want nothing to do with that. Possibly I never met anyone I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, or trusted enough to give myself to as totally as one does in a marriage.

Like I said in another message board, I stopped calling myself a feminist a long time ago because what's coming out of the mouths of most of the feminists these days do not reflect my values.

I'm glad to see that for some things it's back firing on the feminists.
I never married either. Too many horror stories about it. I would devote myself almost entirely to my spouse, but I would have to know he would truly appreciate it and love me for it, not simply take advantage. I have never met that kind of other yet. Perhaps I never will.
Actually, I've always felt I was born in the wrong time era. Was just plopped here and now fate doesn't quite know what to do with me. :|
Take care and talk soon.

wow I agree with you whole heartly on that one...I do not think you have to give up being a woman to be strong and you definitely should not get your strength from making a man weak...

I am a very strong woman...married for over 27 years to a very strong very "male" man

...as the mother of 3 men I am shocked by the way men are seen today....my guys tell me how hard it is to be male in the USA in this time.....Dirk really speaks for what men today go thru...it is very hard on them

...but I have always said I got very, very, very lucky with the man God brought me...& yes he loves for me to be strong and his equal

....and he also allows for me to be a complete woman....we cook, laugh, play, and live together in so many many ways

....I have a sister that has remained single and she is incredible and neither of us could ever imagine her any other way

...God uses us for who we are & I hope that each of you are in a place where the world allows you to be just that

...Life is too short for compromise and not enjoying each and everyday you have.....

....YOU BOTH SOUND LIKE AMAZING WOMEN!!!!

...STAND UP AND TAKE A BOW AND THEN EMPOWER ANOTHER WOMAN TO BE ALL THEY CAN.....& AFTER THAT THANK THE MEN YOU COME IN CONTACT WITH AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO BE MEN!!!!!

Just My Humble (but loud)Opinion
