It was great meeting Dirk at the Starfest 2006 convention here in Denver. I had never been to a convention before or even met a famous person. I got to meet some other actors there, but my day was made when I shook hands with Dirk - it was just surreal. I grew up watching BSG, and of course Dirk was my favorite because he was the happy-go-lucky guy that just smiled regardless of the bad events around him. He seems like that in real life too (kidding around before the lady took the pics - http://www.bowacer.com/images/dirk2.JPG). I waited around for an autograph since his booth was the last one up, but he didn't come back after his event. So I guess I will hold out til his visit next year (if he comes back) to get that autograph. Maybe then I will just bring his book (great reading) for him to sign instead of a pic.
