I'm not a fan of German movies, since I know a lot of them... those are cheap productions, except a few ones like "Das Boot" for instance. Anyway, is Goldene Zeiten just one of those typical German movies or is it really recommendable?

Also I wonder, if Dirk's real name "Niewoehner" means that his family originally comes from Germany?

I haven't seen the film but I hear it is very funny. Dark humor.
Since I do not speak German, I am hoping for them to come out with a DVD with English subtitles.

According to DVD Palace (http://www.dvd-palace.de/dvd-datenbank/29605.html) there won't be any subtitles at all, even not in German. Quite strange. I don't think I have ever seen a German movie with English subtitle so far (I don't think I have ever seen a German movie on DVD...haha). On the other hand, those people should know that there is a large number of Dirk fans world wide - they should translate the whole thing into English. They did it for "Run" (Lola rennt) or "The Experiment" (Das Experiment), too. I don't like these films, but just to give an example. :roll:

I don't know why or how, but they already sell many copies on eBay.de including a Goldene Zeiten poster as well. One guy is selling a big fan package, but it's already over 100 EUR. :shock:

Yes,... new videos are sometimes with errors, but it should be working by now.

Yes, I love that scene in the movie, I fell out of my seat laughing. I love Fox Mulder!!! There is something about a paranoid wiseass that just catches my heart, and that's Mulder.

I've never liked German movies, but this film makes me really curious now.
I also don't like reggae and hip hop music, but the soundtrack is a real exception.
