Picked this link up on Brietbart news today ( one of the most popular hollywood stories for today) when I was reading another article. This is being presented as "from the blog archives" across the top but newly posted today, and comes up with a ton of fresh comments today (208 at my count at 9PM central).

Tracy and everyone, I am not sure it it is revised at all from the original, and I have switched laptops so it is not an easy task for me to get to my old links, so if someone can enlighten me as to whether or not this is edited / revamped / or just a re-post of the original and the Re-imagined BSG gunning for publicity because their ratings were not what they had hoped for the premier last friday. (Just a guess on my part, I don't follow the Nielsens)

I am leaning toward the fact that it is a straight re-publication today.

Well I haven't read the whole article reposting ( only skimmed it ) but the original article is up on the homepage.
Over 200 replies in one day. Wow. After almost 4 years of being in circulation, Dirk's still got them talking ;)
I have received about a half dozen personal emails today re the article. All positive. :)
Well, here we go again it seems ;)

It's not a rework... I just re-read the original, and breitbart just re-posted the original with no edits / reworks. But yeah that is a lot of comments especially considering brietbart is predominantly a hard-news site, and considering he wrote it over four years ago......timeless......better with age like fine wine.....

After re-reading the article for the ..th time, it still brings a big smile to my face! :)) Not only do I agree with Dirk's views on the matter, but I can really appreciate his ironic sense of humour. :p

I read a few dozen of the 208(!) new comments and the majority of it seems to either agree with Dirk or to at least appreciate his humour on the subject. Only a small group doesn't appear to understand where this is all coming from. Which is their loss, of course, .... >:)

Indeed a timeless article! Way to go, Dirk!

I usually don't read comments on his article, simply because I'm so sick of people mis-reading it and going off on rants about something that's really a very minor point. But I did read through some of these, and while, as noted, there are some who still don't get it, it does appear that more and more are actually *reading* it. Whether or not they agree, at least they seem to understand what he's actually talking about!

Thanks for posting that link. :)
I've read this article many times and have found it well written, thought-provoking and not at all offensive to women. ;)

Good grief - just got my Google alert for the day - that article is all over the place! :o What's going on? Something to do with the faux show ending? Didn't that end already? (Shows how much attention I've paid )

The show began it's final 10 episodes last Friday.
I don't know if the timing of the resurgence of the article has anything to do with it or not.
Regardless, it's great to see it out there again ;)

The thing I like is that I'm seeing less and less of the ranting and more and more of the discussing - on almost all the sites that are bringing it up. Nice. :)

I've been living on Big Hollywood, Breitbart's conservative Hollywood site and was perusing the latest commentaries this morning. Good thing I scrolled down, I would have missed it. :D Had to put my two cents' worth in.

A lot of the people who read that site do tend to read the things without posting the ad hominem attacks. I quit reading the responses about halfway down though. Don't really have the stomach for some of these posters.

So right! You can give yourself an ulcer if you keep reading  And after a while, hearing the same old ranting (and some of it verbatim from site to site) you just want to say, yeah, come back and comment when you learn to read! Or just get a life... ;)

After reading the responses to his article on the Big Hollywood site, Dirk has this to share....

And I quote:

"There are some of us who still measure the worth of a person by the life they live, the deeds they do and not image, celebrity and material wealth."

End quote.

There you have it. ;)

Although I guess the people who didn't get the article wouldn't understand Dirk's response either; it's way too profound for them.>:) ;)

Hi all,

Just wanted to say that I find it amazing (and quite sad) all these people who say they have "READ" !! Dirks re published articles over the past few days on various sites and blogs and even more amazing (and sad) then "SOME" also inturn make all their comments when it is so blatantly obvious I feel that,

1, some didn't take the time to read the articles properly

and/or

2, some just plainly didn't understand them.

What scares me is this maybe typical I feel of most things in today's world and also what scares me is how high the percentage of the "SOME" is.

Reading some of the comments is quite a laugh as you shake your head in disbelief but at the end you end up worried by "SOME" peoples failure to simply read understand and comprehend a simple article.

I hope I can teach my son to read properly and to understand what is written, an art that is slowing disappearing.

Glad we can all read and understand on this site :)

Well that's just my opinion be it right or wrong. From Dirks quote I can just see him sitting there shaking his head at how low "SOME" peoples level of understanding is in our world today. Is this a worry for our childrens future?

Anyway, hope everyone is well

Take Care All Jo

and Hi to Dirk from Benjamin in the UK, hope you are well.

Hi Just me again,

Sorry I forgot to say to all those who in turn did understand and comprehend Dirks articles and true meaning, I am so glad YOU are all out there hopefully we can win the battle of understanding in the minority.

and teach our children well.
